Four books ahead on my reading challenge, which feels like finding unexpected money in a coat pocket. Pratchett's Small Gods holds up beautifully. #reading #Pratchett Currently: Velleman's Making Phonology Functional (excellent), Weir's Project Hail Mary (no comment).

Back from a week in Salt Lake City. Good to reconnect with friends, and with the desert. Grief as well -- lost friends, and dying wilderness. From the top of Eagle Ridge, you can see poisonous Utah Lake, and the new data center being built at the mountain's foot. #druidry 1/2

Ch. 4 of my Arthurian cozy mystery: bust an alchemist out of Oxford gaol, rescue a brother from fairies, get framed for arborcide by a Knight of the Round Table. King Arthur meets cozy mystery. It works.

Reading Project Hail Mary. I have degrees in astronomy and linguistics, experience with government and military contracts, computer science experience... And the unforced errors are piling up on nearly every page. Venus's temperature. Elements in the sun. Hull physics. How the UN works. 1/2
