potentially hot take but yanno how everyone freaks out about how The Rich™ have like way too much money and how some people defend them and stuff, saying that they deserve the money bc they worked really hard to get it and that this economy allows people to pull themselves up from their bootstraps, and how we all hate that sort of thinking ? okay listen, that is exactly how i feel about supercelebrities like taylor swift. she is annoyingly big. she’s not even an artist anymore, she’s an entity. it’s not Cool™ to like taylor swift anymore because everyone who ardently supports her tends to come across as judgy that “you aren’t enough of a fan.” idk im a casual swiftie, i like blank space and champagne problems and clean and this is why we can’t have nice things and delicate and a bunch of other songs but idk she’s too big like she’s losing relatability at this point.

If her songs had lost relatability over the years I would have thought the same, but folklore.. evermore? MIDNIGHTS? These lyrics just hit the right spot, and the melodies never miss.

And I cannot think of any other super celebrity being as humble and real in their art AND maintain that quality even after two decades.

I really admire that, but I’m mostly motivated by it.

okay so i think this is a coincidence, especially because those things are all her struggles now, too. BUT i clocked immediately last fall that intrusive thoughts/destructive taylor in the video looks a lot like her quintessential stage vibe and thaaaaat is not a coincidence, i don’t think

one of the worst things about me is when i’m super into somebody, i get tunnel vision; they’re all i want, they’re all i see, they’re like the epitome of god himself. i do not know how to stop myself from placing somebody on such a high pedestal and it sucks so so so much because the feeling is never mutual or reciprocated one bit. my interests always have other options and straying eyes. i’ve never been a persons one and only.
