In The Eyes Of Your Boss
Here’s a simple way of summing up where you want to be in the head of your boss…
We all have perceptions. So does you boss about you. The decisive one concerning your future career is how much potential for future tasks he thinks you have.
But let me put this in perspective:
Let’s say you work hard and your boss is acknowledging and rewarding this. He/She sees your current results and believes in a great career in future lead positions is waiting for you - Position A. Great! Keep working!
Second version: you are having a relaxed job you can easily handle. Your work load is absolutely fine, sometimes you are even bored. But as you get everything done so smoothly your colleagues and your boss know that there is more to come for you. Bigger and more attractive tasks and positions will follow - Position B. Great! Keep doing what you do! Don’t change anything but always make sure to stay proactive, open minded and willing to learn.
Both these positions are in your favor. Congratulations.
If your work is not that much or tough but your boss loses faith in your potential you have a problem - Position C. If you don’t change anything now your chances are high to stay in your current position for a decade or two. Take action, ask for more projects and make suggestions for strategic changes or process optimizations. You should consider leaving the department or the company.
Worst case - Position D: You work your butt of, come early, stay late, skip lunch brakes and never leave the work without something to complete at home. You are given additional tasks and projects and your to do list consists of several pages. But your boss thinks that you are at you personal limit already. He sees you struggling and fighting and therefore does not see any untapped potential in you.
If you are in the “D” sector YOU HAVE TO leave the job as soon as possible. You will NEVER be rewarded. You cannot do anything about it.
Always know where you are and what your options are. Only then you can actively contribute to your career.
Best of luck

Christen Press- Then we have Christen, who is in the corner performing a Los Angeles rendition of the Nutcracker ballet. Christen has informed me and Samantha Johnson that if we continue to distract the others (since when is twerking during downward dog and cuddling during Shavasana inappropriate??) she’s going to suggest we be kicked out of Yoga.
Well Christen, if you read this, 1) how about a retweet and 2) it’s not that easy for me to follow along either when your auditioning for a broadway show. Regardless, I plan on buying a tutu and practicing nutcracker ballet yoga every night in the confines of my own home to see if its the secret to acquiring world class composure in front of goal.
Bonus: This week, with myself and a small number of others egging her, on she bluntly asked with her signature look (resting b**** face) “Is yoga mandatory this week?” Without delay, Rory replied that Yoga absolutely is mandatory, and that her question is probably better suited for a private conversation at a different time. Good on you Sam, you miss every shot you don’t take.
(The Bonus my way of saying Rory loves Christen so much he is now a yoga advocator)

Doing Nothing
‘There’s a story of three people who are watching a monk standing on top of a hill. After they watch him for a while, one of the three says, “He must be a shepherd looking for sheep he’s lost.” The second person says, “No, he’s not looking around. I think he must be waiting for a friend.” And the third person says, “He’s probably a monk, I’ll bet he’s meditating.” They begin arguing over what the monk is doing, and eventually, to settle the squabble, they climb up the hill and approach him. “Are you looking for sheep?” “No, I don’t have any sheep to look for.” “Oh, then you must be waiting for a friend.” “No I’m not waiting for anyone.” “Well, then you must be meditating.” “Well, no. I’m just standing here. I’m not doing anything at all.”
… Seeing Buddha-nature requires that we… completely be each moment, so that whatever activity we are engaged in - whether we’re looking for lost sheep, or waiting for a friend, or meditating - we are standing right here, right now, doing nothing at all.’
- Charlotte Joko Beck, Everyday Zen.
I think I went into deep meditation for the first time ever, I meditated in real time for 20 Minutes but it felt so much shorter, I don’t remember think much about anything, but the time passed by freakishly fast.. After I was done I felt so light that I felt like I could almost float.

Anna 🌻 Stop shrinking yourself in order to be loved by others. Stop thinking that you need to change in order to be worthy of kindness and attention. You’re betraying yourself. Stop doing the exact things to yourself that hurt you so much when others are doing them to you. Pause for a second and notice this crazy rush you’re constantly in, trying to finally “get there”, to finally meet “him” or “her”. To finally arrive in this life you’ve made up in your head, your “real life”. The only real life you’ll ever have is the one you’re living right now. I know there’s lots of pain at the moment that you’re trying to outgrow, there’s many things you want to change, including yourself, including the last. There is no way to change the past and there is no need to change yourself. Don’t forget to breathe, don’t forget to distance yourself from this inner judgmental chatter. Things are okay, and very soon you’ll be able to feel that again.
