[BDRP Drabble] “That’s a Terrible Strategy”
“Well, there appears to be three of them,” Clairos commented quietly to the robed woman beside her.
They were perched behind some stones and foliage that hid them from the main path leading to Olvia, watching as three warriors clad in the colours and pageantry of Calpheon were making their way towards them; Clairos wasn’t pleased about their presence, and the Vigilantes back in the village would be even less pleased.
The woman with dark auburn hair beside her turned to look at the taller woman, smirking faintly as she spoke, “So the idea is that they mustn't reach Olvia, right?”
Already, the armour-clad woman didn’t like the tone in her companion’s voice, nor the smirk upon her dusted lips. She hadn’t known her for all that long, but she had known her long enough to know that the woman from the East was up to no good.
“Yes,” Clairos replied slowly, watching the rather hesitant men slowly make their way forward; either side of the road was littered with Imps, however they only ventured near when weaker prey presented itself. “The last thing we want is them bothering us, or upsetting the Vigilantes.”
The smirk widened as the response was made, “Well then, time to take them away to Velia instead.”
She stared at the dark haired woman for a long time, until she winked, her head tilting in such a way that the light made red highlights show throughout the darkened auburn; the spellcaster held up a finger to the warrioress as she did so, still smirking.
“Somehow, I expect I’m not going to like what you’re planning,” the Calpheon native said to the sand rat.
The wide smirk was part and parcel of the reply as her companion replied, “Of course not - I plan on telling them the inn of Olvia is riddled with rats, and that they shouldn’t waste their time with it, and instead they should come with me to enjoy the finer inn of Velia - while fliritng all the while, of course. Your Eastern men, they are so gullible.”
The blonde woman’s eyes widened with disblief, dumbfounded for a moment as she tried to process what her sand rat of a companion was telling her; as the woman slowly comprehended what was just said to her.
“And what happens when you get to the inn in Velia and they want more than just drinks?” she asked, watching the men slowly make their way towards them.
It was then then darker woman just laughed lightly and replied, “I let them lead me up to a room, I pour them more drinks, and I drug them so the fall asleep before anything more can happen - it pays to be an alchemist, dear Clairos.”
“That’s a terrible strategy,” was all that the fighter could say before the other woman was moving along through the bushes, before suddenly making her way into the dusty lane that lead up into Olvia; the former Calpheonian guardian swore under her breath, shaking her head as she did her best to shadow them, “...by Elion’s short hairs, that woman is insane...”
