DUCHESS MARLEY EVANS:
Deep in thought, Marley stood in the soft early morning light that the sun had gifted them all with today. It was a beautiful forenoon and even though the trees were bare and there were still specks of white on what was usually lush green, Marley was lost in the serenity of the outside world.
When she felt another one’s skin on her own, Marley gave it a stroke with her thumb instantly. It was a very familiar touch. Her wife’s hand fit with hers like two pieces of a puzzle. Slowly and softly, Luna’s touch pulled her back to reality and her words were answered with a soft sigh that fell from her heart. “No, no. You’re right. I should be. I should get going, really.” It didn’t exactly seem like she was eager to follow her own orders.
“What’s on your mind?” While they both could become entranced in the tranquility of the outside world - something that they wouldn’t have the whole season - was there something more hidden under her gaze? The roles could have been easily reversed, and yet they gave each other a gentleness no one else could fathom. Some might have gotten angry at such an action, but not them. Not this time.
Instead, Luna’s voice was low, and even a small hum escaped her lips. There was plenty to do, but that didn’t mean it couldn’t wait. It all could, and all she would have to say was one word. “What is it your people say? A... penny for your thoughts?”

how long can she do things before without getting bored?
It all depends! There a few things she can do for hours, if not days in a row. If it wasn’t for her wife scolding her and making sure her needs were attended to, she wouldn’t do much else. Other times, she is bored for days on end - nothing can seem to sate her boredom.
can she recite any poems?
Yes! Mostly in French and Russian. She’s still learning English poems, but they don’t fall off of her tongue as easily.
if someone rang them and asked where they were, and they just went “guess”, where would they be?
Where is Luna normally found?
There are plenty of places, theoretically, that she could be. She is prone to her favorite places, though. She can be seen outside in the garden or Hyde park outside of the season, humming to herself as she tends the plants. She can be seen in the office, doing her side of the finances and chores. She could be in her secret room where she secretly sews and stitches - making her ideas come into fruition. Or she could simply be in the window seat, basking in the sun while reading. Over the years, she’s learned to love that spot the most.
LADY JULIANA CALDWELL:

Juliana stood at the back, already exhausted from the dancing and the chatter, some of the conversations more engaging than others. It was more fun to people watch anyway, wondering if this Lady S was among them at this very moment. Turning to someone else who likely was taking a pause from the fun as well, Juliana smiled.
“Had I known I would be dancing the entire evening I would have worn more comfortable slippers! How are you enjoying the evening?”
Any ball here required complete engagement with it or else you’ll find yourself in the middle of a scandal. This was especially true when Lady S seemed to have everyone within their grasp. While Luna was content being silent, gathering her breath and courage to rejoin the evening.
“I remember when I had to learn that the hard way.” Just thinking about the memory, she wanted to laugh. Her first debut at twenty - it was such a scandal at the time. No aristocracy here besides the Evans had heard of her, and she had already been an Evans by name and title. Just imagine if Lady S had captured everyone's heart then! “If it is not dancing, then you are being introduced to some dashing young man who would much rather be anywhere else. But, the night is still young. There is always something that happens here. What do you reckon it could be this time around?”
MR. EDMUND ANDRASSY:

With stern look on his face, Edmund let his gaze wander around the room, painfully aware of his mothers’ eyes burning into the back of his head. She had insisted on coming to the ball with him, so now the pressure lay on Edmund to go and pretend like he was having fun, so that she would be satisfied for the evening, with an accomplished look on her face, and so that she wouldn’t get other ideas - such as trying to find a match for her son. Just then, luckily, Edmund saw Duchess Luna standing among the crowd - a married woman, so no fuel for rumours or Lady S - and he quickly approached her. “Your Grace.”, he greeted her, with a low bow. “You are looking exceptionally well tonight, if I may say so. How are you enjoying your evening so far? And might you reserve a spot on your dance card for me?”
The first ball of the season and Luna already dreaded what would come next. In a way, it was boring for anyone who was taken. It was, however, interesting to watch who others were swooning after. Most were mothers cooing over their children’s futures. It made her wonder if they cared more about their title and prestige or their children’s happiness. Were they all not trying to marry themselves higher in their lives, even if it has to be through their children? It was hard not to ignore her in a crowd, but at the very least the night would be interesting.
In response, she smiled at him. Even now, bowing felt all too formal. But it was the ever-so unspoken rule! So she endured it. “Funny that you should ask, Mr. Andrássy,” she began once he arose. “With you on my dance card, the evening can only get brighter from here.” Did that not answer his question, albeit indirectly? “How has the night been treating you?”
MAISIE SINCLAIR:

the raucous noise of the gambling den which has oft been maisie’s evening haunt of late, washes over her like waves on the shore. she stands a few paces from the faro table — and a few paces from her looming chaperone — watching on with an amused expression playing on her features. noticing that she is not the lone spectator, she turns her chin toward the other, “ are you going to join a game at all this evening? ”, her voice carries lazily above the hubbub, “ personally i prefer to spectate, you know you can learn a lot about a person by how they act in a game of chance. ”
At times, Wickford’s noise can carry and be all too much for Luna. How long had she been tuning in and out throughout the evening? She had been a ghost looming over a peculiar place. She was absent from the room when Maisie took interest in her. It was obvious when she spoke. “Why join a game when your heart is not in it?” If there were faces she knew and adored, perhaps it would be different. But Luna was increasingly aware of her slipping even further into the sidelines. It felt like where she belonged. “Is life not a game of chance? I suppose you can learn some bits and pieces of someone. One can never be truly sure how their day has been.”
LORD HUGH CHURCHILL:
Weston Park was certainly the place to be seen during the season and thus Hugh always made a point to visit. He was intrigued to see who was out in society and who wasn’t, and the park made for a pleasant ride on horseback. It was one of the few occasions where Hugh did not have to worry about money, although the thought had crept into his head that if he could not turn things around then he might have to sell his beloved horse. But that time was not upon him just yet.
Hamish was a little out of sorts today, perhaps due to the park being more crowded than normal. He knew he should have waited for a quieter period, and Hamish suddenly reared up and let out a loud whinny that called far too much attention to them for Hugh’s liking. “Whoa boy, easy there.” He gave the horse a reassuring pat on the neck to calm him before looking down at the person who might have been fearing for their life. “I must apologise. Something must have spooked him as he is not usually so skittish. He didn’t frighten you, did he?”
While Luna was no stranger to horses, a horse rearing up near oneself puts them in a different kind of fear. With everyone moving about, who knew what had caused such a reaction! On the bright side, it had cleared her mind of all thoughts, including those pesky intrusive ones. On the flip side, she couldn’t count the number of people staring at them on one hand.
While the horse seemed to be calmer, Luna didn’t dare get close. “In such a time as this, it is not your fault.” That question, in a time like this, would have made her laugh. Of course, she had been frightened! Who wouldn’t be? “I am sure he didn’t mean to cause any harm or scare. Just scared, himself.”
DUKE ALEXANDER HARCOURT:
Although Wickford’s was at the heart of the marriage market, and therefore the one place Alexander should have avoided the most during the season, they served a brandy of supreme quality. He simply couldn’t stay away.
Watching the marriage market was certainly entertaining if one was not involved. Unfortunately his mother seemed to spend every waking moment ensuring people that he was unattached and therefore up for grabs, and he found himself avoiding the glances cast in his direction of people hoping to catch his eye. One particular parading peacock was amusing him tonight and he was confident that a certain lady would soon have a proposal coming her way from this lord currently trying to showcase his wealth. Alex turned to the person sat at the nearby table. “Care to make a little wager?”
When Luna had come to hear of Wickford’s other side, she had already been married - no need to go through the marriage market there. Funny how life throws one about. But it was still a place where the season bustled. If Luna wasn’t out and about, who knew what rumors would spread?
“Is it about the woman wearing too much lace?” Now it was obvious who she had been staring at. Wasn’t that dress just so gawky? She had to shake her head first before she turned towards Alexander. “What are we wagering anyway? Money - the little bits of our sanity that we have left?”

status : open location : just outside madame lacroix’s dress shop @scandalrp-starters
she leaves the shop in a whirlwind, turned out before the next set of customers is pulled right in. she has plenty of gowns at home, as does her sister, but the latest and best is required of them ( of both of them ) for the season. “ someone will be by at the end of the week to pick those up, ” she shouts over her shoulder, as the door shuts behind her. gaze is still focused backward as she takes a step forward, clearly not looking where she’s going as she slams into another. “ pardon me, ” she gasps, finding her footing again, “ how clumsy of me. ”
All of the air left Luna’s lungs involuntarily. If she had been as small as she believed she was, maybe that wouldn’t have been the only thing she did. Why one closed their eyes when they brace for impact escaped Luna - and probably most. She had first heard the other’s voice. That drew her from her dwelling. Despite being physically taken aback, she wasn’t outwardly. In fact, she was able to smile at her. Ah, of course, it was in front of Madame Lacroix’s! What irony! “Pardon me, as well.” Neither had looked where they were going. “The streets here are bustling - could have been far worse of a fate. Imagine running into a horse?”

The woman was standing there, fair as a rose. As usual, Luna couldn’t take her eyes off of her wife. No matter where she was, she was always the most beautiful person in the room. Even after being together for longer than most predicted they would be, there were times that they still acted like newlyweds. She had been gearing up to do final adjustments, but this put her at a standstill. For once she stood silently still.
After what felt like an eternity, she found the courage to get close to her and slip her hand into her wife’s slender one. “I thought you were busy today.” It sounded more like a question. “Did something take less time than you thought, hmm? Or have you not started?”
LADY ELOISE KINGSLEY:

oh, how she had missed this - basking in the fresh, mid-day air, the comforting warmth of the sun while promenading around the park. nodding to greet the people she knew and demurely avoiding the gaze of the people whose attention she had just captured.as much as she loved the country, eloise missed the excitement of the london season terribly, and was glad to return every year.
eloise nodded towards an acquaintance, about to approach them for a chat, when she was ripped out of her thoughts by the sight of something before her feet. she turned around quickly. “excuse me?”, she called for the person that had just passed her, bending down to pick up the object - much to her chaperone’s dismay - “i believe you have just dropped this.”
Everyone around her was excited when the season started, but all Luna felt was a nervous fear. When would she say something wrong? She had fought for others to accept her position in this outlandish society - how much more did she have to do? She was particularly far antsier this afternoon. The best thing for her was to keep busy. If she wasn’t, there was no telling what she would do!
There had been a throng of people on both sides, but she was in the back, taking her sweet time. At first, she hadn’t heard a voice calling for her - it couldn’t have been for her! Wait, she had dropped something? She had been carrying several objects, but a spool was nowhere to be seen. So, naturally, her head shot towards the person calling to her, brows furrowed. She held the very object she had unknowingly lost! In her glee, she forgot all thoughts of being a proper lady. As she quickly made her way towards Eloise, she couldn’t help but beam. “You are correct to believe that - thank you for catching it! It would not have surprised me if it had been across town otherwise.”
MRS. ELINOR BAXTER:
“Mm, you are far more hopeful than I am then Your Grace, but I do hope you manage it,” Elinor said with a small hum showing her clear uncertainty about this season. She considered herself very lucky that she’d never had to attend any of the courtly things to find a match, she and her husband had met and married very young. “I’m not quite sure, some of my children will be attending I guess I hope it goes well for them.”
It was hopeful thinking, but at least it wasn’t something utterly scandalous and damaging. Were both women not married and loyal to their loved ones? Oh, children! She hadn’t thought about that prospect. She couldn’t possibly imagine what it was like on that side - she had honestly skipped the majority of what society deemed was acceptable. She hadn’t been in the marriage market - married off before her social debut. Was that not scandalous enough? Just thinking about what went on to find a suitable match for others made her shudder. She considered herself lucky to have married for love. “May God help them,” she mumbled. “At the very least we won’t be causing the trouble, hmm? Perhaps hit in the head with a few, but not the leading cause.”
MRS. ELINOR BAXTER:

“You know I do suspect there will be a lot of trouble this year,” It was usually her husband’s job to be the optimist, as people began to return to London for the season or simply get ready for it Elinor often found herself nervous for what may happen. The rumours of someone telling secrets certainly wasn’t helping. “What do you hope to gain this season then?”
There was an incident every year, and this year could be no different. How would Luna embarrass herself this season? Would it be by not using the right title to someone important but under her radar, talk a little too far to her left at the table, or another wardrobe malfunction? Who’s to say! The season was full of wonders at every turn, and while it was exciting for her, she was always nervous. After all, this was only her seventh year past her debut - she was still constantly learning by experience. But did anyone truly know what they were doing? Luna began to think that, especially as she fiddled with a particularly feeblesome button. “Hopefully we all can stay out of trouble.” That could never happen! This was London after all. “That is what I hope to gain. What do you hope for this season, Mrs. Baxter?”
“Sometimes, when your hands are shaking, she intertwines her fingers with yours, and you don’t understand it, but you do know that when you are in her arms, the world doesn’t seem so dark, and her name sounds like a breath of fresh air, and there is something about her that says home, and she is more warm than sunshine ever could be, and at some point, you aren’t shaking anymore.”
