Currently reading My Dark Vanessa, im about 53% through and i need someone to talk about this book!! I dont think ive ever seen grooming being described so well before.
Jantar Secreto (Secret Dinner) by Raphael Montes
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5 stars)
In Jantar Secreto, the plot revolves around a group of friends who move to Rio de Janeiro and, in order to survive in the big city, decide to rely on a strategy involving mysterious dinners, millionaires, and something resembling the meat of that coastal bird.
I gave this book 5 stars because I could never guess the plot twist! I totally fell in love with the characters’ dynamic and Raphael Montes’s writing style. It’s so good that I’ve already started reading his other book, Suicidas.
If you want a book you just can’t put down, this is the one. Even after you finish it, you’ll still be thinking about the story. While reading, every time you put it down to do something else, you’ll catch yourself wondering what’s going to happen next.
One thing I really loved is that the story is set in Rio — a place I know well. Usually, I read books set in big cities I’ve never been to, so I just imagine them. But this story takes place in places from my everyday life, which made me feel way more immersed in it.
Honestly, I’m already a big fan of Raphael Montes and really surprised by how much I liked this book. If you’re into thrilling stories with complex characters and a plot you won’t see coming, Jantar Secreto is a must-read!
Currently reading I'm glad my mom died.
I haven't finished it yet but it's so sick that jenette mcurdys's mom bathed and shaved her legs even at like 16 ??? That woman was insane
The Housemaid's Wedding -Review
*no spoiler!*
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
It's a very short story. 72 pages to be exact.
I was very surprised when i saw that this book was full of complains on goodreads! A lot of people said it was unecessary and that the book didnt add anything to the story...
I agree to some extent but at least for me it was very obvious that this book has no intent to add more to the story. You are reading about their wedding because you like the characters, or did you expect a plot of murder and suspense and plot twist in 72 pages?
This book is fan service at its finest. And im not even mad about it.
This is a completely optional reading, in no way you have to read it to understand the series, so i would only recommend it to someone that really liked the characters.

It took me a little while to get really into it, more specifically it took me 199 pages. That could be a reason for this book to be a 3 star at maximum but the end really stuck to me since i actually didnt see that one coming.
By the time im posting this i have already read the novella and am currently reading the third book.

I liked this waaay more than i thought I would, made me get into the next one immediately.
The twist was a bit obvious but i still liked to see it playing out. So far im in love with the characters.
It got to the point the pages were turning themselves and my mouth was wide open. Freida i love you for that!
The Perfect Marriage- Review

Rating: ⭐/5
I struggled so hard to finish this book 😭
I'll say what I liked first since i feel like I'm being too pessimistic with my reviews...
The chapters are short and the writing is really easy to understand. You probably can read this in one or two days if you're really invested, it took me almost two weeks...
And now what I didn't like: The characters have mostly one trait of personality, and Adam Morgan is competing to be the dumbest man on earth (dumber than that guy from the couple next door). He literally does everything possible to loose his case. Also! The relationship Sarah has with the detectives are so fake, the fact she's a potential witness but she's her husband lawyer, I could get past it if she didnt have anything to do with this case...
I personally don't recommend it, but I do think you should read it if you're interested in the plot and make your own opinions!

I actually read this a few days ago and completely forgot to do a review about it, that's how little of an impact this book had on me...
I didn't like the way the characters were written, they seemed too simple? They basically had one trait of personality and the husband only pissed me off (although he's better than the husband I'm currently reading in The perfect marriage). Also, there really aren't many twists.. everything is too predictable.
Overall, this book just wasn't for me.

This book accidentally introduced me to dark romance since I went in to this with no idea of the plot other then I like the cover and the title.
Really not the type of book I usually pick but I'm not mad about it, I'm definitely gonna read the next one. The only thing that really took me out was the playlist, I know some people like it but I don't.

I'm eating this series up!! I wasn't so invested in this book until about 40-50% through, but after that this book just had me completely. I'm already so curious about the next book! Which I will be reading as soon as I finish this review. I'm already sad thinking about finishing this series so if anyone has recommendations about similar books please please please tell me!
Definitely recommend this to anyone, especially teens that like criminal minds.

I simply started this books this morning and finished this afternoon. I don't know if I've ever been this captivated by a YA series like this before! I'm so excited to jump into the second book already (which I'll definitely will be doing as soon as I finish this review :)
Everything in this book kept me interested, the mystery, the romance and all the characters personalities. Although, I do have to share some quite embarrassing quotes I noted (I promise the entire book is not like this!)
Overall if you want a smooth reading, mystery/romance series to read I highly recommend this.
Also, I'm team Dean.
this book website gives you the first page of a random book without the title or author so that you can read it with no preconceptions!!! great for discovering new recs

The ending really did it for me on this one. The very last sentence made this book go up to a 4 from a 3 star rating. I really loved the parts of the book with his sister, shes so interesting. everyone in this book is so interesting! It really made me rethink a lot of things...
Definitely recommend this to anyone that can handle cannibalism and violence.

Honestly, I'm so disappointed... I really thought this was going to be a five star read but the end really ruined it for me. Although, the falling in love process really captivated me, I think Carley Fortune has a beautiful way of writing her characters and I couldn't stop thinking about this book until I finished it.
Currently reading: Pretty Little Liars by Sara Shepard.
Format: E-book.
im 50% through the book and I have to say.. why are there so many blondes? anyways, I'm enjoying it. it's a very light read. perfect for anyone who wants to read something fun although it does talk about some serious issues. I'm surprised because in the show Hannah was my favorite character, but in the books I definitely like Spencer more!
I intend to read the entire series, but we'll see.
Update: finished the book!
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐.5/5
great book for getting out of a reading slump.
the characters have different personalities, the story is quick paced and the writing is really easy to understand.
really solid book, currently available on ku. if you're bored and want some teenage drama with a little of a dark switch but still fun: I would definitely recommend this.
realistically there is no chance i will have time to read, imma still bring a book though
