Halloween had slowly been creeping closer and Fabian had been dead set on partying or at least dressing up. So when night fell the group started a pub crawl route Nile had planned for them, pre-approved by Andy to avoid aimless wandering or random detaours and Gideon fell in pace with Arthur.

“Hey,” he greeted with a small smile, they hadn’t spent as much time together compared to other members of the group, “What that from?” he asked, gesturing vaguely towards Arthur’s costume.

Gideon can’t help but stare as Electra rambles on about Ancient Runes, he had scraped by in his O.W.L.s but he knew nothing compared to her and it was fascinating. Then all of sudden she falls quiet and her hand is gently brushing the hair away from the side of Gideon’s face. He forgets how to make sounds as Electra leans closer.

Their noses brush. Gideon can feel her breath against his face. In the moment he feels like all their interactions have been leading up to this. He closes his eyes, allowing himself to get caught up - and then remembers with a guilty, nauseous rush about Rabastan.

Gideon jerks back, head smacking hard against the wall. “What in Merlin’s beard are you doing?”

Gideon shut the door softly behind himself. He looked down at his bloodstained clothes and grimaced, he never enjoyed a match that was won by default. The sting as he moved his shoulder wasn’t a great feeling either. “Who the hell used a homemade spell in a duelling competition?” he thought with a tired sigh, Gideon was all for innovation but this was hardly the time or place.

He removed his shirt and chucked it onto the nearest hook in the changing room before examining himself in the mirror. There were a series of three diagonals across the right half of his midsection. It would hurt like hell when he got into the shower, but the gashes looked to be mostly superficial.

His hand moved down to his pants when he heard the creak of the changing room door, “Can’t interviews wait until after I’m chang-” he groaned expecting to see his coach as he turned around, “-oh... Electra, what are you doing here?”
