Duke Reviews TV: Once Upon A Time 1x03 Snow Falls
Hello, I'm Duke And Welcome To Duke Reviews TV Where We Continue To Look At Season One Of Once Upon A Time By Looking At Episode 3, Snow Falls
This Episode Sees Emma At Henry's urging, convincing Mary Margaret to pay a visit to a comatose John Doe in the hospital to read to him from the storybook. But Mary Margaret is stunned at the outcome of her visit. Meanwhile, back in the fairytale world, Prince Charming meets Snow White for the first time in a most unexpected way.
What Happens When Mary Margaret Visits The John Doe In The Hospital? How Did Snow White And Prince Charming Fall In Love?
Let's Find Out As We Look At Episode 3 Of Season One, Snow Falls, Starting With The Enchanted Forest Story Of The Week
Our Enchanted Forest Story Of The Week Starts When Charming And A Woman We Don't Know Yet...
Abigail, Daughter Of King Midas
I Know Who She Is, But We Don't Find Out Until A Few Episodes Later And I'm Trying To Act Like The Audience Who Has No Clue Who This Woman Is At This Moment!
Let's Rewind, Our Story Starts In The Forest As Charming And A Woman Who We Don't Know Yet Ride In A Carriage When Suddenly A Tree Falls In The Forest But When Charming Looks At The Tree He Realizes It Didn't Fall, It Was Cut...
A Thief Steals A Pouch Of Jewels That Was In The Carriage Only For Charming To Race After The Theif To Discover That He Is A She Named Snow White...
As Snow Races Off, He Swears To Find Her Wherever She Goes And The Next Day He Does And Right In Front Of Her Hideout Too..
After Snow Says My Favorite Line In The Episode "Aren't You A Prince Charming?" Charming Asks Where His Jewels Are Only For Snow To Tell Him That She Sold Them But Charming Isn't After All The Jewels In The Pouch He Only Wants A Ring He Had In There That He Was Gonna Give To "The Nag With The Bad Attitude"..
As Snow Puts It...
So, Charming Lays It Down, Either Snow Will Help Him Get His Ring Or He'll Turn Her Over To The Queen's Forces, Agreeing He Let's Her Go..
As They Journey To Where They Need To Go, Charming Notices A Necklace Around Snow's Neck As Earlier She Said She Wasn't The Jewelry Type Only For Her To Reveal The Necklace She's Wearing Is Really A Weapon: Fairy Dust From A Bad Fairy Which Turns Foes Into A Form That's Easily Squashable...
But Here's The Thing, There Are Only 2 Bad Fairies In Once Upon A Time, One Is Maleficent (And I Don't Think Snow Has Met Her Yet) And The Second Is The Black Fairy (Whose Realm Is Impossible To Escape From According To Belle And Rumplestiltskin's Son, Gideon In Season 6) Which Leads Me To Ask If Snow Got The Fairy Dust From The Black Fairy How Did She Escape Her Realm Alive?
Snow Actually Says She Robbed Their Carriage By Accident As Only The Queen's Carriages Take That Road Stating That All She's Doing Is Just Trying To Survive, Asking Snow What She Did To Incur The Queen's Wrath, Snow Tells Charming That She Blames Her For Ruining Her Life, Asking If She Did, She Says Yes..
Now I Know At This Point We Dont Know The Origin Of The Evil Queen But For Those That Do We Now Know That Snow Is Lying Her Ass Off...
First Off, She Is Not In Anyway Responsible For Daniel's Death, She Was Manipulated Into Revealing Regina And Daniel's Relationship To Her Because (Sadly) She Wasn't Being Open With Her And All She Wanted To Do Was Help...
If Anyone Was To Blame For Daniel's Death It Was Cora, Regina Was Basically Projecting That Hate Onto Snow Even Though She Was Just A Little Girl Who Was Manipulated And Tricked By An Evil Woman, Regina Blamed Her, Stating That There's Evil In Her
Honestly I Would Love To Talk To The Evil Queen To Basically Tell Her To Stop The Blame Game And Actually Admit The Truth Of Who Is Actually To Blame And That Is Cora, End Of Story...
When They Stop To Get A Drink Of Water Snow Pushes Charming Into The River So She Can Escape But She Comes Across The Queen's Guards Led By One Of The Most Horrifying Guards In My Life, Seriously, Look At This Guy...
This Guy Has Makeup And A Look That Says I'm Gonna Kill You
But Either Way We Don't Need To Worry About These Guys Much As Charming Comes In And Saves Snow Cause It Was The Honorable Thing To Do Either Way It Has Her Feeling The Love Tonight As They Continue Their Journey
When They Finally Arrive At Their Destination, The Troll Bridge, They Meet The Trolls To Tell Them She Wants The Ring Back Only One Problem They're Not Exactly Trusting Of Royals And Oh Yeah, They Discovered Snow Is Wanted So Now They Want The Reward
Snow And Charming And Fight Them Only For Them To Be Defeated By The Fairy Dust Which Turns The Trolls Into Bugs After They Nearly Killed Charming, So Now He's Feeling The Love Tonight After She Did The Honorable Thing
Arriving At The Road Near The Castle, They Seperate But Not Before Charming Tells Her That If She Needs Anything, He'll Find Her...
And That Ends The Enchanted Forest Story Of The Week, Now Let's Move On To The Storybrooke Story Of The Week...
Our Storybrooke Story Starts With Mary Margaret On A Date With Dr. Whale Who Is Distracted By The Same Thing Id Be Distracted By...Ruby's Ass...
She's Gay!
Again, She's Bisexual, She's Had Affairs With Both Men And Women Therefore She's Bi...Plus Dorothy Is Too Bossy So I Don't Think That Relationship Lasted...
After The Date, She Comes Across Emma Who Is Sleeping In Her Bug After Being Kicked Out Of Granny's And With No Vacancies It's Difficult To Find A Place, But Margaret Offers Emma To Stay With Her (Acting Prideful) However She's Better Off On Her Own..
Yeah, And Do You Know What's Better Emma? A Warm Meal And A Warm Roof So Suck Up Your Pride And Stay With Mary Margaret!
Now I Know She Moves In With Mary Margaret By The End Of The Episode And That Yes It Develops Her Character More Into Trusting Other People Since Emma's Life Has Been Crappy, But If Emma Were A Smart Person She Would Have Moved In Right Then And There, To Hell With Pride And Pity..
But I'm Done Comparing The Story To What I Would Have Done In The Same Situation, The Next Day, Mary Margaret Takes Her Students Including Henry To Visit People At The Hospital, But Henry Is More Interested In The Unconscious John Doe Who No One Has Claimed
Talking To Emma About Him, He Believes He's Emma's Father, Prince Charming And That The Curse Is Keeping Mary Margaret And Him Apart, But Emma Thinks Telling Someone Their Soulmate Is In A Coma Is Not Helpful And Giving Someone False Hope Is Worse
But Ever The Optimist, Henry Believes He's Right And That By Having Mary Margaret Read Their Story To Him Which In Turn Will Make Him Remember Who He Is And Emma Agrees To Do It And Convinces Mary Margaret To Do It...
Believing That When It Doesn't Work Henry Will Stop Believing That That There's A Curse On The Town...
I Know, But She'll Believe...
So That Night, Mary Margaret Reads Their Story To John Doe, Only For His Hand To Grab Hers
Telling Dr. Whale, He Kinda Talks Down To Her To Make Her Believe She Imagined The Whole Thing When She Didn't Before He Calls...
He Tells Regina That David Moved Because Mary Margaret Visited Him Which Has Her Nearly Crushing The Phone In Her Hand...
Ok She May Not Be Doing That But You Know Somewhere In Her Head She's So Pissed She Wants To Smash It...
The Next Day At Granny's, Mary Margaret Tells Emma And Henry What Happened, Henry Tells Her To Read To Him Again And She's Off To Hospital With Emma Being Like...
However When They Arrive, Sheriff Graham And Regina Are There And Reveal That John Doe Is Missing
With Emma Questioning Why Regina Is Here, She Reveals That She Was His Emergency Contact As Found Him On The Side Of The Road Years Ago With No Id And With Him Being On Tubes For Years They Need To Bring Him Back Immediately Or He Could Be Dead Or Worse, Emma Offers To Help But Regina Is Like That Woman From Hercules Who's Like "We Need A Professional Not An Amateur"...
And With That I Say We Got A Guy Possibly With No Memory Who Is Lost, You Need All The Help You Can Get To Find Him As There's A Good Chance He Could Die, So Suck It Up And Accept Help Where It Comes
Either Way Emma Decides To Help As Graham Talks To The 2 Guys Who Were There Last Night, Leroy (Who Was Grumpy) And Walter (Who Is Sleepy) But They Saw Nothing Last Night, But After Emma Looks At Old Tapes She Discovers He Went Out The Woods, So Emma, Graham And Mary Margaret Decide To Track Where He Went In The Woods
After Emma And Graham Talk...
Graham: This is my world. I got it.
I Think That's His Sign Of Wanting To Invite Emma To The Red Room
And Emma Talks About Her Bailbondsman Job With Mary Margaret, Henry Arrives And Tells Them To Stop Looking For Him And Let Him Come To Mary Margaret But They Don't Buy His Story And Instead Tell Him To Go Home..
But As They Do That Graham Finds Blood Meaning They're Running Out Of Time Thank God They Find Him In The Toll Bridge, So As Mary Margaret Holds Him Begging Him To Come Back To Her, He Awakens To Discover He Has Amnesia...
And It Gets Worse When They Get Back To The Hospital As A Woman (Who Looks Like Abigail) Arrives And Is Revealed By Regina To Be His Wife...
Turns Out John Doe's Name Is David Nolan And Abigail In This World Is His Wife Kathryn, Kathryn Reveals To Emma And The Others That A Few Years Ago, David and her were not getting along. It was her fault, She Was Being difficult and unsupportive And She told him if he didn't like things, he could leave. And he did. And She didn't stop him.
Wondering Why She Never Came Looking For Him, Kathryn Replies That She assumed he'd left town all this time. And now She knows why She never heard from him. Now She Gets To say I'm sorry And Have A second chance With David
I Know Regina Says To Emma That They Looked At Old Tapes And It Revealed That David Was Calling Out Kathryn's Name In His Sleep But Emma Should Have Been Smart Enough To Say "Show Me The Tapes, You Think I Trust Your Word That You Found Tapes That Reveal What You Said After Everything You've Put Me Through Since I Got Here? I Don't, The Entire Thing Still Sounds Fishy To Me, Show Me A Damn Tape"
And I Know Regina Would Probably Use Her Political Power To Say No But Hey, Worth A Shot...
No, I'm Just A Person Who Is Realistic And When A Person Uses Their Political Power For Their Own Personal Gain That Person Should Be Challenged
So With That Said, The Episode Ends As Emma Finally Decides To Move In With Mary Margaret...
This Episode Despite My Nitpicks Was Pretty Good, It Reveals How Snow And Charming Fell In Love And It Brings David Nolan Into Our Story (Finally) All In All I'd Say See It
Till Next Time This Is Duke, Signing Off...
