Look at this gorgeous girl I found the other day
Moth appreciation day!
Thank you for appreciating this moth.
As @onenicebugperday is not currently accepting submissions, here is a moth friend I found at work.
They (I think they are a โshe,โ but Iโm not sure) was trying to sleep in a very bright spot that gets way too hot come midday.
I moved our friend to a more sheltered spot.
Iโm pretty sure theyโre in the family Saturniidae. I donโt know which species. Their secondary wings were a beautiful shade of sunset pink, but they werenโt interested in showing them off aside from annoyed fluttering.
Covering their little face ๐ฅบ๐ฉท
Here is a video of them tucking their face, and those big eyes!, into their fluff. Sorry for the blurry quality at some parts.

@greenix submitted: mystery bug from [removed] (please remove location)! found this little guy on my plants. iNat was startlingly unhelpful with him!
also, here's a gorgeous Polyphemus moth I found the other day. wishing you good bug sightings!
I'm surprised iNat was unhelpful with the first because they're very common! It's a lady beetle pupa, likely an Asian lady beetle. The polyphemus moth is beautiful if a bit battered! I love her. And thank you! I have definitely been seeing some nice bugs lately :)
hello, im baby
- Tags ID'd this little guy as the Virginian tiger moth :) -

I loaded an absolute ton of sticks into the back of this truck and this moth didn't even remotely care, it just wanted to stay there and vibe!
Bug of the Day

Went mothing with a friend last night. Saw lots of cool things! The highlight for me was definitely Callosamia promethea. Ceratomia undulosa and Paonias myops made an appearance as well.

@honeyedbrie submitted: my mom found this cool dude and one of his friends in my yard last week, I believe it's a blinded sphinx?? at least that was the ID google gave me:-)
I'm in the North Okanagan in B.C., Canada!
It is indeed a blinded sphinx! And a very nice one, at that. Hope they're out there living their best moth life...
Found an amazing and lorge moth at work today.
Today has been a glorious day.
Pachysphinx modesta or the modest sphinx moth.
