Dusk Tactics - Turn Based Tactics RPG - Demo Scene
An early look at the latest user interface. It comes complete with dynamic tooltips that show exactly how your unit’s stats are calculated. Every “field” is modular, so one can easily construct any type of UI element using these widgets.
Portrait is a placeholder copyright enterbrain.
Here’s an interesting screenshot from version 0.5.1 which shows the latest User Interface. The map is a recreation of the town Ashton from Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together, without the buildings of course, it’s one of my favorite from that game and makes for a good elevation test.
Sprites are placeholders from FFT and FFHacktics community.
This is the second installment, it follows the main characters of Dusk Tactics to show what they are up to while the game is being developed.
I call the series Instruction Manual, and this is Page 002.

Here’s a little webcomic thing I made after coding for hours on end, it helps to break up the monotony that is developing an SRPG engine and game.
I call the series Instruction Manual, and this is Page 001. I left two leading zeroes since I am obviously going to make hundreds of these :|.

An inside look at some of our development tools. Other than the Tiled Map Editor, most of our tools including our engine are made from scratch in Java!
The Scenario Editor can handle lighting, unit creation, placement, movement, dialog, and much more!
You’ve seen big Alton, now here’s little Alton in our animation program. These examples are just nonsense animations, but it will be a big help to get every animation perfect when we make the final versions.
Here’s our Dialog Editor at work, allowing us to display text with many different styles, colors, and animations thanks to the TypingLabel library by Rafa Skoberg https://github.com/rafaskb/typing-label
Character is a placeholder image from Fire Emblem.
An early rendering of a scene made using our Scenario Editor, which makes creating the story scenes much easier.
Gameplay from the latest version, 0.6.0, featuring a 3 vs 3, all AIs. The sprites are placeholders from FFT and custom sprites from the FFHacktics community.
(The Defend spell animation is a bit messed up due to the gif encoding)
An example of an attack that knocks the target back a tile.
Some early animations for different weapon types. Top is 1 Handed, middle is 2 Handed, and bottom is Ranged.
