In remembrance of those who’ve past, the creation of Adam, the first trans man.

shoutout to no-op trans men!!! i know a lot of people talk about top surgery as the ultimate goal when transitioning, but if you can’t/won’t get it, i want you to know you are still as valuable a man as any other.
shoutout to trans folks waiting ages for healthcare, stuck on the evergrowing waiting lists. it sucks. you’re allowed to be jealous. you’re allowed to be angry. you’re allowed to feel sorry for yourself. nobody should have to wait years for crucial, lifesaving healthcare.
hey ik wou gwn ff zeggen dat je echt helemaal valid bent
hey thanks! ik heb geen idee hoe lang deze ask in m’n inbox zit want tumblr is shitty, maar wat een leuk berichtje! thanks!
We mogen bijna stemmen! In deze rubriek helpen we bij het maken van een keuze. Deze keer: de verkiezingsprogramma's van 2021-2025.
to my fellow dutch lgbt+ people, in the upcoming election please vote for parties that are educated and fighting for lgbt+ emancipation and healthcare!
Congrats to Abigail Thorn aka Philosophy Tube for coming out !!

trans people do not have to pass
trans people do not have to WANT to pass
not every trans person can bind/tuck/get surgery
not every trans person WANTS to bind/tuck/get surgery trans people do not have to fit ANY requirements to exist and be trans. there are no rules. you can dress and act and be however you want. you are GOOD just the way you are.
A new name might feel weird at first, but that doesn’t mean it’s the wrong one for you!

quarantine times are hard for trans folks. there are few distractions and many opportunities to get into a negative spiral. it’s more important than ever to take care of yourself
make sure to develop a routine that helps you deal with your dysphoria. do something physical to retain a positive relationship with your body if you can. but take it easy as well, don’t overwork yourself. be kind to yourself and make sure to practice self care!!
dysphoria facts
your chest is not as big as you think it is
male chests are not 100% flat
it is natural for males to have a slight bump
dysphoria will trick you into believing that there is a large bump but there isn’t
your chest is flat
one binder is enough, never use more than one binder to bind your chest
if you really do believe that there is a bump and it is causing you distress, you may need to buy a new binder because washing/drying incorrectly and prolonged use can cause the binder to lose it’s purpose
100% of the time your binder is fine though and it is just your mind telling you different
if you see the slightest bump, you will think it is 10x larger and worse than it actually is, but it isn’t
dysphoria skews your image by heightening your sex characteristics
no one will notice what you are dysphoric about because often there is nothing to notice, dysphoria is just making you self conscious and distressed over parts that people would not take notice of
dysphoria is not your fault. you are not an inconvenience, crazy or being annoying for having dysphoria. it is a condition and you deserve help.
you may think your legs are super feminine, but they actually appear masculine in those straight jeans. no one notices.
you may have a high pitched voice, but so do many guys. there are cis men who actually sound like women and i know it causes distress, but you can deepen it.
you may have a baby face, but so do other cis men. they’ll just think you look young for your age.
Being trans or nonbinary and unsure how you want to transition is completely okay! There is a lot of pressure around transitioning and it’s okay to be unsure of what you want. Not everyone does T or E, not everyone gets surgery. It can be from choice or inability too but no matter what there is no rush and it’s okay to be unsure. No experience is the same and there is no shame in changing your mind from a previous decision. You are still valid always, no matter how you transition.
So you’ve jsut relized that your Trans. Or maybe you’ve known for a while
But you think to yourself
“my dysphoria wasn’t this bad BEFORE I relize I was trans so I’m obviously faking it”
and i’m here to tell you that is WRONG.
Imagine this. You have a doctors appointment at the end of the day and you can’t eat until after you go to this doctor. So you wake up and you spend your enitre morning not eating and you think “this is fine im not really hungry anyway.”
But then you see someone else eating and you relize that not only are you hungry, you are fucking STARVING. And you spend the rest of the day thinking about how hungry you are.
The more you think about how hungry you are the hunrier you get but yo ustill can’t eat until after this appointment. Even why you try not to think how hungry you are its still in the back of your mind.
Thats kinda how pre-relization dysphoria works. You spent the first part of your life thinking “well im not dysphoric” even though you didn’t knwo what that word was yet.
Then you learned about dysphoria and being Trans. Suddenly dysphoria hitts you in the face like a bag of bricks.
Your mind didn’t have a word for dysphoria before so it took those feelings and shoved them into a hole in the back of your mind, but when you learned the word for it you suddenly experianced that emotion a thousand fold. Not because your dysphoria is worse now than it was before you relized you were trans. But because your brain now has a word for it and you can adress these feelings rather than just shoving them into that hole in your mind.
TLDR: If your dysphoria is worse after you relized you were trans its not because you are faking it. It’s because your brain finally has a word to link to those emotions rather than just attempting to repress them due to lack of knowledge.
