This brother right here. Aces. Cat's pajamas. Erudite and driven. A kernel (motif) would be placed into his grey cells by the ancestors and he would struggle, toil, and fight himself until he sculpted it into something next next level. True unadulterated genius. And a lover. Dedicated his third symphony (the Eroica) to Napoleon but in a fit scratched off his name when it became clear dude was nucking futs. No harm, some foul. Brahms is a huge looming figure for me. He was one of the first truly lovelorn melancholic composers to move me. There is tremendous depth in his music. He also knew the unrequited love game well, therefore he's a kindred spirit. #composer (at Vienna Central Cemetery)
