Lizzie and Darcy… and… let’s call it music appreciation.
Mr. Collins in every conversation:
happy netherfield ball day
*Me during any and all “peak romance/sexual tension” ballroom scenes
*Me drooling over waistcoats and cravats
*Me in my thirties an unmarried spinster because modern men are just bleh…
Lady Catherine: and i forbade her from ever accepting a proposal from you, and she refused–
Mr. Darcy:
If you’re only allowed to have physical contact when you dance, then dancing with someone is electric. It’s so charged. -Matthew Macfadyen
GIF REQUEST MEME » requested by anon: Pride and Prejudice (2005) + dancing
now that it’s 2020, i think it’s time for another adaption of pride & prejudice. 15 years after the 2005 version and i think we’re ready
Mr Bingley and Mr Darcy attending any ball, ever:
“He is irresistible. I think it’s because, in today’s cinema and it’s fantastic, but we go for very pretty guys. And Matthew is a big bloke, he’s a big bloke and he’s really vulnerable, and really manly, and he’s just desperately romantic. So yeah, he is. He’s completely irresistible.”
Keira Knightley talking about Matthew Macfadyen in Pride & Prejudice (2005)
Elizabeth, an avid reader, immediately snapping her book shut when Darcy says good women should read extensively is peak petty behaviour and one of my favourite parts of the movie
What the Bennet family is doing during quarantine...
- Mrs. Bennet would be panicking.
- Mr. Bennet will have locked himself in his library by day 2.
- Jane is making WAY too much tea.
- Lizzie is sneaking out every morning to get her walk in and hanging in her father’s library reading to him.
- Mary knows everything there is to know about the virus, and won’t stop talking about it.
- Kitty is coughing which is causing Mrs. Bennet to panic even more.
- Lydia is complaining about not being able to see the officers.
BONUS:
- Darcy isn’t impacted. He hasn’t left his house in mon– weeks… He hasn’t left his house in weeks.
- Bingley is speed walking laps around Netherfield because he’s worried about Jane and in desperate need of socialization and movement.
There are two kinds of people: normal ones and the ones who watch period dramas and get excited about the shots focused on hands.

Mr. Darcy's first proposal in a nutshell:
Jane: what’s the first thing you notice when a man proposes to you?
Lizzie: the audacity
modern jane austen adaptions be like: the audience can have a little sexualisation of the male love interest, as a treat
