I saw you liked being poked about the despicable driver au... And I randomly got curious how they would all act at the pool.
How would they jump in? Would someone push someone else in? Any funny wacky pool toys/floating things? Who gets a sun burn? Who drops their ice cream or drink, and how do the others react? Who has the best beach outfit? Things among those lines is what I wonder.

you're also in luck because this is in the ballpark of things @dru-gru, @dykes4dru, and i have talked about for them before.
all three of the despicable trio are summer lovers; it helps that their respective movies both came out around summer, so the vibes are already there.
dru's manor is the hotspot for this activity but occasionally, as a random passerby, you may find that the hotel you decided to stay a night at had its breakfast dining raided and its pool closed because three strange men who didn't pay for a room are there annoying the patrons with their presence. they're sometimes spied at the beach or at lakes as well.
chick doesn't use any sun protection and is tan as tan can be while you might as well be lighting bratt and dru on fire with what they're going to look like by the end of the day:
dru is the one that drops his ice cream before chick picks that thing up bare-handed off the cement and puts it back on dru's cone. dru resumes eating it.
we were chatting about bratt wearing a very classic striped one-piece swimsuit like this, as illustrated by @/dykes4dru:
but then while hunting for references we made a very fine discovery:
despite all odds it's a mite too tight on him. chick has photos saved and has them posted on some social media where he frequently contemplates them on a bad day.
bratt's the one in the water most out of the three. we've seen DM3. just in case you've ever posed the age old question of what if michael jackson was a merman. meanwhile chick can swim, and does enjoy it, but he's slightly more likely to be seen lounging from the sidelines or on the ridiculously large car inflatable shown above that likely has some chick hicks branding on it. dru has a ring floatie that resembles a pig, but if you're at the pool of dru's manor then there will be actual pigs in the water. there'll be real pigs. minions too.
on the topic of shoving, no one is safe. dru is the only non-instigator of this but that won't save him from the crossfire. it's a joke well worn out by this point but neither bratt nor chick will ever think it's not funny.
i once had a headcanon that after chick's racecar, murphy, came to life, it had a natural aversion to bodies of water because it's not waterproof. by being inherently linked to his car, chick also gained some of this aversion. but in his point of view he just woke up one day and for seemingly no reason the idea of setting foot in any body of water made him want to piss himself. probably got over it eventually, who knows. i don't know if i still stand on that headcanon but it's still amusing to me either way. watch out if you're in a pool with chick hicks and he's exhibiting signs of a paranoia mood swing.
the despicable driver AU is an elaborate crossover between pixar's cars and despicable me, written by my dear friends @dru-gru, @dykehudson, and me. the overall narrative of this crossover sees chick hicks, balthazar bratt, and dru gru teaming up as a trio of villains. together, they're both stupid and stupid good, but not always at the same time.
we primarily write this crossover humanized, but we have a car-ified version of it that we enjoy as well.
all three of us really love talking about this crossover, so please do feel free to poke any of us about it!
Timeline of Events:
Events of Cars: Race-O-Rama occurs; Chick Hicks loses a race against Lightning McQueen (again). Chick is subsequently banned from the Piston Cup Racing Series for his foul play.
Chick wants to get back into the Piston Cup. He needs money to do this. Unfortunately, his racecar is totaled by a freak meteorite one night and he has no means to race, and therefore no means to turn a profit.
Fortunately, following that night, said racecar comes to life and self-repairs (e.g. Stephen King's Christine). Chick promptly dubs the racecar Murphy. Itâs a little easier on the tongue than âeighty-sixâ.
Chick briefly meets Dru, who gives him the idea that he would make a great getaway driver for prospective villains. Chick takes this idea, runs with it, and promptly forgets all about Dru.
Chick is desperate at the time being, so with what little money he does have he produces an ad (Ă la Free Real Estate) promoting his getaway driving abilities and wants the Villain Network Channel to air it for him. The VNC looks at his records, sees one of his former sponsors is Hostile Takeover Bank (unbeknownst to Chick at the time, a villain org.) and his ad gets put on the air.
Bratt watches the ad and knows a sucker when he sees one, so he calls Chick to pull him into a heist he'd been planning.
Bratt successfully scams Chick during said heist and makes his way out scot-free with Clive, leaving Chick to take all of the heat and lead the cops/AVL (Anti-Villain League) away. But not long after that does Murphy track down Brattâs scent through its magnificent grille.
Chick is fuming, whilst Bratt is very curious about this sentient, potentially very useful car. Bratt doesnât care about Chick blowing up at him at all.
Because of how Bratt ditched Chick, Chick now has a personal vendetta against Bratt and wants to get back at him and get the money heâs owed. Meanwhile, Bratt wants Murphy for himself. Through these respective objectives, they keep crossing paths.
Said crossing of paths leads to the two surprisingly enjoying one anotherâs company and gradually growing closer, despite first impressions. They become genuine friends and experience long years of friendship together, heists and all.
The events of DM3 and Cars 3 occur. Chick is busy hosting his show, Chickâs Picks with Chick Hicks, commentating over the current Piston Cup racing season. Bratt doesnât want Chick to get involved in his plot to take over Hollywood with the Bratt Bot.
Directly after DM3, Dru grabs one of the boxes of junk that the AVL is salvaging from the post-Bratt Bot Hollywood scene. This box contains a very broken Clive that Dru plans on repairing.
Bratt is hauled away to the AVL prison. Both Chick and Bratt think that Bratt isnât gonna get out of there, they both think that Clive is destroyed, and theyâre both depressed and lonely.
Events of DM4 occur. It's been about a year of Bratt being in prison, and a depressed Chick has gone back to drinking. Theyâre both doing very badly.
Dru breaks into Brattâs lair to steal parts for repairing Clive and begins his work.
@/dykehudson's DM5 plot occurs. Bratt hates Dru specifically for destroying his Bratt Bot and ruining his plans of taking over Hollywood alongside, he doesnât want to work with him. After a while of Dru trying to get in good with all the villains, he presents Bratt with the repaired Clive, to which Bratt is initially mad at (Dru not only ruined his plans, but he broke into his lair, messed with Clive, and then CHANGED himâŠor so he thinks). After seeing that Clive genuinely gets along well with Dru, and hearing that Dru was inspired by him and a big fan of his show, they begin to get along.
Chick and Bratt promptly reunite!
Chick and Dru are soon introduced (for real this time). Chick doesnât like Dru. Dru really likes Chick. Chick thinks Dru has something to gain out of both Bratt and Chick and that Dru is trying to play them. Because of this, Chick dislikes Dru even more. He will not be convinced otherwise (yet).
Over time, Chick and Dru do end up bonding and becoming genuine friends as well, though it takes Chick a looong while to come around to Dru. Ironically much longer than it ever took with Bratt.

Yeah no problem I'll do some dru with pigs, I like how they both herd some kind of tubby creature of sorts, I watched the rest of the movies and it's been fun. I caught an incredibly nasty cold so ughhhh
