The only thing slow is those two... Spoilers below the cut. Enjoying this one partly due to the excessive cuteness (esp Wine) but also the relatively low stakes - it's not life and death and the threats, while real, aren't because the characters are artificially stupid (they are competent in their areas but inexperienced).

☑ Committed relationship ☑ Exclusive relationship ☑ Want to tell each other everything ☑ Insecurity until they talk. ☑ Constantly thinking about the other one ☑ One talking the other into living with her for a week and getting smug about it. ☑ Buying each other gifts ☑ Making each other food ☑ Comfortable with lots of non-sexual physical contact. ☑ Repeated "sex isn't why I'm doing this" (promptly followed by sex). ☑ Keep forgetting to keep up the enemies front (it's only still working because people misinterpret things). ☑ if it was a romantic relationship the people around them would be going "will you two just fuck already" but they already are. ☑ ... more The only reason they have to hide it left is the risk of causing mass casualties by sugar poisoning.

Omg, y'all, Denied Love is going to be a ride.

First off, thanks to marriage equality, we get a forced marriage GL plot, woot woot! The reasons for it? Nebulous and unimportant. Family friend stuff.

There's maybe an age gap? The subtitles said 12 years, but also they look to be of similar age in flashbacks, so who knows. Again nebulous. Doesn't matter.

What does matter is our leads.

Rin is our standard "got my heart broken once and swore off love forever" protagonist.

And then Khem...omg, Khem.

At first you think she's going to be this sweet naive girl, caught up in something that is only going to hurt her.

They even call her a puppy in the opening scene.

But oh no. No, no, no.

Imagine, if you will, the all-encompassing obsessiveness of Toh from Secret Crush on You.

Paired with the staggeringly overblown confidence and sexual aggressiveness of Style from The Heart Killers.

Like, I think she is a little bit insane?

This is her after her father just died.

In a car accident.

Where he drove his car off a cliff.

With her in it.

But it's ok!

Because he already had an incurable disease.

And now she gets to marry Rin - so win, win!

I really hope they let our evil little temptress go fully unhinged.
