I'm going to start writing sci fi stories again in 2026. I need to create more original content. I do suggest you connect with me elsewhere if we're friends/mutuals as well.

Please do not contact me unsolicited if you are fundraising, selling, or otherwise looking to make money. I care about the poor, and I give regularly to people in need. But it needs to be local in my area, not with strangers.

Easy Ways to Keep Away Mosquitoes

It is still snowing here, but if you are lucky enough to live somewhere warmer, I thought it might help to spread some information on different ways farmers out here use to keep away mosquitoes and other pests.

Fragrant Plants. There are several plants that are said to deter mosquitoes. The most popular ones are marigolds, lemongrass, beebalm, lavender, so on.

Mosquito pucks/mosquito dunks. These release a bacteria that kills larvae, but are safe to plants and wildlife(you can also use them to kill gnats).

Cedar mulch. If you use mulch in your garden, consider mixing in some cedar. The cedar oils keep away mosquito and ticks.

Concentrated Garlic. This is a weird one, but we use it at the farm. You can buy concentrated garlic oil to spray over large areas, and it will deter mosquitoes.
