Hi everyone! Itās been awhile sinceā¦ Iāve posted anything substantial. Iāve been really really busy with school, like more busy than i ever imagined. I just finished my spring semester, and I passed, yay!!!! I am SO TIRED, HAHA. Any veterinary school is not for the weak, us vet nurses (technicians is the technical term here) also get that. But, Iām very proud of myself. Iām taking a few days to justā¦ catch up on sleep (GOD.) and with friends before I start making things and getting back to my commission queue. I left this semester with a lot of inspiration for art so hopefully you all will see that soon! Other than thatā¦ I have something pretty exciting to share!
As mentioned previously, I am currently in school to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician (essentially, a vet nurse.) and it is thanks to my school that I have been offered the wonderful opportunity to travel abroad to the Dominican Republic to help animal welfare. But this comes at a cost and I need help in reaching the funds to be able to go.
This experience will aid me in bettering my skills as a future LVT, but more importantly, I, alongside Project Samanaās team plus my colleagues and the veterinarian & LVTs that are educating me will be able to provide necessary veterinary care to animals who would otherwise not have it. By donating you are backing a wonderful cause and helping out animals in need!
Unfortunately, at the moment I do not currently have the time to take on any more commissions, but if this is to change I will update. For now, we have a donation pool (yayyy!)
Any and I really mean any, a dollar goes a long way in this economy, amount helps. I have until August to raise the necessary funds to be able to go.

Weāve reached a little over halfway, but thereās still more to go! With the money we have raised so far I have been able to purchase the tickets to fly out & return. The remainder, once fulfilled, will need to go towards the deposit i must make for the hotel stay, food, gas for the car rental we are using, & to be able to purchase items i need in preparation for the trip
today is my birthday ^_^ i had half a mind to type up some really sentimental paragraph about how much ive grown this year and whats next to come but i donāt have the time to write all thatā¦ maybe later tonight!

iāve seen a couple of minor lapses so Iād thought Iād just clear this up, no oneās fault I suppose, but all my mc ocs use exclusively she/her pronouns. They/them is acceptable i guess, but iād really prefer if it was just she/her for all of them.
This is because their sapphic & woman adjacent identities are pretty important to their character & stories and this is the quickest way to get that point across. I donāt really want anyone to think of them as men or as completely genderless beings. I know because of the way one ficās genderless society functions means everyone just assumes that that part remains true for all fics, even fics of that fic, but thatās not always the case.
I also wanna make a point to say that I am not ignorant to the fact that pronouns do not equal gender, my own pronouns are absolutely not indicative of my own gender (I am often pretty feminine presenting and im agender & i use he/they pronouns lmao), buuut I donāt quite trust everyone to immediately understand this concept and I would have to clarify this point each time I talk about these characters to avoid confusion.

I'm a very dry texter so people always assume I'm mad or annoyed or something with a text like "Wow thank you." and it's like I said I'm thankful so it means I'm thankful??? I hate how humans made words and then decided that words have different meanings based on the way you're saying it.

I don't mind as long as they're not like. Trying to pretend that there's 0 inspiration at all. I always like listing my inspo to combat this bc people are always afraid to just say someone inspires them
I've become mutuals with ppl who have been inspired by my stuff at times (and then I "steal" from them in turn HEHEHE so its a nice mutually beneficial cycle). I Steal all the time I just osmose it and Frankenstein it into my own work. I expect the other person to eventually osmose it into their own style
Truly as long as no one is straight up tracing its fine. Worst case I had was someone tracing while using my brushes, canvas colors, exact same color palettes, and even the exact same phrases I used in personal work/personal anecdotes while attempting to use my same handwriting, on top of telling everyone they hated me in private and otherwise pretending they didnt know who I was/accepting all compliments for Their "Original" Work. Literally just dont do all these things in combination and its ok
its devastating when someone, in good faith, draw a trans woman who looks like me: tall, scruffy facial hair, wide shoulders, far apart boobs, big nose and then the trans community dog piles them in the comments saying its evil to depict such a negative stereotype like that.
