Thinking about this again now too maybe I am being too deep about it but shallow is no fun.. I love how in one of mantis’s sort of first demonstrations of free will… he stops someone from putting a gun to their head and taking their own life…

And then later on, as his ability to exert his will upon others becomes even stronger, he would make them do that very thing 💭

I’m coming to some point like.. maybe seeing someone lose it all and sit there in utter hopelessness is something he internalized, if someone could do that to themselves willingly, it would be even more delightful to make them do it unwillingly, to influence those destitute feelings upon them, to drive their hand… it would be more satisfying than hurting them directly…
