I remember when I thought I'd never escape the constant hell that was my life a few short years ago. The constant anxiety attacks, the series of overwhelmingly unfortunate events, the pain, the sadness, the absolutely lack of money, the constant feeling of failure, the loneliness, the depression. But, here I am. 27. Married to the most amazing man. Stable. Rarely having anxiety attacks. Dream job where I've gotten two raises and a massive promotion to the top of the company in under 6 months. Friends I adore. Coworkers that I've only known for a year and a half that quickly turned into friends and feel like they've been my sisters my entire life, my own weird pack of strange, creative, supportive women. Not only that but Ive become a part of the community that really makes up my beautiful town. A town I didn't see the beauty in. A town filled with wonderful people and small businesses who support and love each other. I'm helping to start a (hopefully annual) craft show at one of the local hang outs. I sell my jewelry at a local shop in town. All of my artistic abilities are being appreciated to the fullest extent possible. Everything I could have wanted and more, constantly flowing into my life. I love my life and it feels so good to say it.
things i never expected to learn through a tedtalk but now am glad to know:

heres the tedtalk if you dont believe because everyone deserves to know this reality of the amazing world in which we live

The best thing about being a sincere person with sincere motives and intentions is that no matter what happens you can sleep soundly at night and move on gracefully because you’re protected and free from guilt :) And that’s the tea on that!
#tb to Iceland, just because 😭
This thread is so good.
THIS. ^^
As a folklorist, this kind of thing bothers the hell out of me. So much of what people think of as ancient is Victorian era or newer. Or just wildly inaccurate, really.
example of Victorians once again fucking shit up
