Here’s the figure!!! :D
Always always always reblog this figure. Loved it at the SRO, still love it. It’s definitely up there as an all time favorite.
It’s so powerful and graceful at the same time. You just can’t beat that.
Happy Anniversary, Harry Potter! Thank you for 20 years of magic ⚡️

Senior dancer's problem
Hello guys, I need your help for a problem I’ve been trying to solve for about a year. I’m a senior dancer (24 y.o) who started irish dance late (at 19 y.o). Still, thanks to my previous experiences in ballet, I never had real problems with placement. But one BIG problem that I can’t seem to handle is the lightness, the fastness that “real irish dancers” have in their legs. When I see you guys dancing, it’s like if you were moving a million times faster and lighter than me, and therefore you can pick up your foot to your but at each treble, and jump as is you were flying, or twist you foot at each treble back, and just move your legs in an effortless way that I can’t seem able to achieve. I am going to the gym, for stamina and core work mostly, and am trying to lose some weight, but after two months I can’t see any changes. What would you recommend? I just feel so slow and heavy, and my muscles seem to take twice longer to answer compared to most of yours. Hoping than someone will be kind enough to help :)
Ohhhh I struggle with this a bit too. I keep telling myself it’s just time, but I’d love to see if anyone has any ideas?
It's sounds weird but no matter how strong you are or how many weights you can bench if you don't train your muscles to move fast then it's not going to happen! I have had this problem all my dance career and the thing that helped me the most was taking bits of my dance and turning them into an exercise for leg speed. Something as simple as a two bar rhythm section or the movement up to and including a leap. You do it back to back to what ever music the dance is done to for 8 bars on the right then swap to the left for the next 8 bars. Every time you do the section concentrate on 'ripping' your legs up, down and over. Go completely over the top and exaggerate it. Once you get it looking better a pro tip I learnt is to do the same exercise you made up to music about 3bpm faster then the dance. E.g. 76 for a jig instead of 73.
My last time ever doing my Planxty Hugh on stage. Here is my favorite little bit of choreography 😊
Please tell me how to do this move. My legs just get confused.
Just really try to twist in and out super fast, and focus on really turning in during them. It’ll create the effect that you’re moving faster than u really are!

***DANCE COMMUNITY. PLEASE HELP*** My best friends had their dresses, shoes and wigs stolen from their car in VANCOUVER BC CANADA. This is just devastating for the family as I’m sure you can all understand. Please keep an eye/ear out for anything that could lead to these items being found. Please share, especially if you live in the region. Thank you.
Foam roller massage for runners. This is an awesome illustration. Credit goes out to Runner’s World Magazine for this. If you haven’t tried massaging with a foam roller, try it once. You’ll be surprised by how good it feels.
Arizona State Championships and Feis, 2002
Lauren, Nicole, Sarah, and Tati. I’m guessing champion dancers

TATI!! I remember her being an amazing dancer - I think she stopped dancing fairly young, too.
Declan Wilson chose my genre suggestion for his #Reels album!!! It’s the most adorable Disney Reel. And the whole album is AWESOME - great practice music and show music! Buy on iTunes.
He looks like Travis Wall
Sully played for my comp today and just…wow… Here’s a super quick sketch I did of him playing.
Sully had a nap on the side stage chairs during our number check at NANs. It was then that I realised just how epic he was and not just for his fabulous slip jigs.
