Anne Rice's The Vampire Chronicles. I first read Interview with the Vampire when I was thirteen. My dad's girlfriend, Debbie (who was just twelve years older than me) had picked up the mass market paperback movie tie-in at the grocery store, and left it on the coffee table. On Valentine's Day the next year, she and I went to a $2 showing of the film in the Fairfax area of Los Angeles.

Memnoch the Devil (book five) was the first book whose release I anticipated. It was published just a couple of weeks after I turned fourteen. I HATED it.
