( /she basks in the quietness of the cafeteria at such an odd hour; most of her schoolmates have either gone back to their dorms to rest or have gone to the library to catch up with studying while still some others have gone off to do their extracurricular activities yet gwen sits silently by the window, sipping on her orange juice/ ) oh hey, vera, you made it. ( /she greets half-heartedly as the treasurer takes a seat in front of her/ ) sorry to call you out here like this. i just didn’t feel like working in the student council office today– too many distractions with the rose garden seen from our window, you know? ( /she tries to keep it lighthearted but it’s obvious that gwen isn’t feeling much like herself/ ) i’ve given you all the receipts right? for thronecoming? we need to do a summary of expenses before legacy day is up.
(/a quick nod is accompanied by quick hands reaching into a pink backpack. within seconds she’s producing her mini-filer, the one she uses for student council, and sitting it on the table) it’s fine, don’t worry! (/she rummages through the tabs, stopping on the one marked ~*thronecoming*~ in purple letters) here we go, (/she lays them out on the table, and immediately begins organizing them by place of purchase and cost. after a few seconds, she glances up at gwen, cocking her head to the side) hey, are you okay, hun? (/her voice drops with it’s sincerity, and vera prepares herself for two outcomes— one of which she decides to refuse to take) oh, (/says quietly) are you ... i mean, like, i’m super stressed about legacy day so i know you’re probably pretty upset too, right? (/she sits up straighter, eyes widening) but, if i’m like, overstepping a boundary or something you totally don’t have to answer, okay? it’s super personal— sorry, i shouldn’t even have asked.
