Do you have any shop recommendations for hair accessories? I’ve looked at your posts but there didn’t seem to be anything specific for hair stuff. Thanks!
Hi, thanks for the question! (image via)
I have a post with some shop recommendations for traditional Chinese hair accessories for hanfu here, and you can also check out my hair ornaments tag for all my posts related to hair accessories. With that said, here’s a more comprehensive list of my recommendations for Chinese hair accessories shops on Taobao (click name for link to Taobao page):
1) Xun Zan Ji/寻簪记 - A large variety of elegant designs that make heavy use of floral themes and pearls:
2) Shui Mo Jiang Hu/水墨江湖 - Light, ethereal designs in gradated colors (my personal favorite!):
3) Feng Xue Chu Qing/风雪初晴 - Airy, feminine designs bursting with delicate details:
4) Jing Chen Xuan/静尘轩 - Traditional designs for a more formal and/or mature look. Has a gorgeous collection of gold filigree pieces, including lotus crowns:
5) Qing He Ji Yi/青荷记忆 - A wide assortment of classic styles showcasing traditional motifs (the ornaments in the top image of this post are from this shop). Notable collections include graceful crowns (guan) and lovely silk flowers:
6) Hua Yue Sha/花月砂 - Beautifully crafted designs mainly in gold and silver, including filigree, with gems providing pops of color:
7) Chai Dian Fang/钗钿坊 - This shop specializes in Chan Hua/缠花 (wrapped flowers), a traditional Chinese craft of making floral hairpins with fine textiles:
Of course there are a lot more great Chinese hair accessories shops out there, but hopefully this gives you a place to start ^^
Finally, I’ll leave you with this self-deprecating meme image (“Ladies who wear hairpins will never admit defeat!”) that pokes fun at how hanfu lovers can get addicted to buying the many different types of Chinese hair ornaments :P
Hope this helps, and have fun!
That senior is an impossible arrogant bastard. Like him so much :)
I want to see how the seeds I scattered are growing But where are they blooming? Asphalt is all around. I’m laughed at by the weeds. But I seemed more fulfilled than anyone else.

Thanks to dtriad on discord for proofreading! Also on imgur for easy reading.
I am DISAPPOINTED in the serious lack of Qiao Yifan content in the last 500+ chapters I have read since he first appeared.
blade and soul:
has a cast of predominantly female npcs, all of different ages, body types, personalities, goals, and motivations. some of them wear more typical conservative clothing, others wear more revealing ones, but there is always a reason, either through in-game justification or for thematic purposes, why these characters wear what they wear.
features a main character that, at times violently, is shown to condemn and abhor sexism.
hell, features a main character that at first is unfamiliar with the very concept of sexism and misogyny, because it isn’t deemed a normal thing in human societies.
has a woman being respected and recognized as the strongest martial artist in the world.
features a female main antagonist that goes unsexualized 99% of the time.
has a major supportive character being shown to deal with slut-shaming because she wears “revealing” clothing. said slut-shaming is condemned by both the narrative and the main character.
makes said character the literal personification of Hongmun/good.
features a human society that doesn’t put one sex above the other, is all but egalitarian, and still manages to address sexism through the beast tribes.
as a result, has women in every kind of profession seen in the game.
has the women in the beast tribes seen fighting sexism and gender norms.
for the entirety of the storyline, has three women being the rulers of the respective empires.
has a woman being the one who all but saves the world.
has its entire story based around two women loving each other.
doesn’t fall victim to sexist stereotypes.
criticizes gender roles.
condemns the male gaze.
never brings up biology in a condescending way towards either women or men. recognizes that a vagina or penis has nothing to say for either your personality or your capability.
on several occasions condemns misogyny and sexism through story-lens, the narrative, and through the interactions of the main character.
features clothing/doboks where both of the sexes are equally sexualised and covered up.
someone: boob physics are demeaning to women! blade and soul is sexist!

Female characters of Blade & Soul
Hara, a strong, brave, talented woman with a big heart. She was sexually assaulted, publicly scrutinized, threatened, bullied and abused. She tried to commit suicide in may this year. After some months, she lost her friend Sulli, too. This world was too cruel for a beautiful Soul like her, rest in heaven now Angel. You will be remembered.
