âQuiet, careful not to step on any branches, he approached, eventually right behind the man staring at the map in confusion. Deciding to tease him as he studied the map, he began chewing at Madara's hair.â
My art for the lovely Berriest_blue (@hardkittenheart)âs fic: Legends of the White Lily Lake @mdtb-bb
I had so much fun drawing this! I always wanted to do a triptych, and when I read Blueâs writing I simply had to draw Madaraâs journey through the woods, a curious creature following after. <3
My mum has to drive over the Millau viaduct every time she visits me, and the other day I was in the car with her and said we should stop to take a picture, and she said, Must we. And I said, Come on! itâs the tallest bridge in the world. And she just wouldnât believe me. Itâs too familiar to be special⌠She was like, surely the tallest bridge in the world would be somewhere else. Not between my house and yours.

In case anyone hasn't heard, the cyclospora outbreak affecting tons of people in the US right now is coming from Taylor Farms produce. Best to stay away from bagged lettuce and prepared salads completely right now, but especially the ones mentioned in the screenshot:
Taylor Farms Earthbound Farms Little Salad Bar (Aldi) Marketside (Walmart) Kroger House Brand Target private label greens Costco salads and greens etc Trader Joe's chopped salad kits and fresh produce Fast food: McDonalds, Taco Bell, (Yum! Brands), Chipotle, Subway, Pizza Hut, KFC, Olive Garden, Top Golf, Red Lobster, Burger King, etc.
This is not the first time I've heard about a Taylor Farms foodborne illness outbreak. I stopped eating their salads after reading a description of the conditions in their facilities. Doesn't sound like they've improved anything.
We need a fully funded and staffed FDA, and regulations with teeth - and that's exactly what we don't have under Trump. To make things worse, the CDC is no longer tracking these outbreaks. We're on our own.

What's your average number of sexual partners per year? Divide [the total number of people you've had sex with] by [the number of years since your first time]. (Defining "sex" here as "any consensual sexual contact with another person".)
Never had sex
Less than 0.5 partners a year
0.5 to .99 partners a year
1 to 1.49 partners a year
1.5 to 1.99 partners a year
2 to 4.9 partners a year
5 to 9.9 partners a year
10 to 14.9 partners a year
15 to 19.9 partners a year
20 partners a year or more
Too many partners to make even a rough guess

âgetting thicker skinâ is great in theory but I think for some people âget better at handling your thin skinâ is gonna be way more helpful advice. I have strong emotional reactions to criticism and they might never go away, but i can continue to try and handle each situation maturely and thatâs the important part. Sometimes irrational feelings are chronic and living with them is better than trying to beat yourself up into not having them.
This is great advice because it still recognizes that "handle the situation maturely" still needs to be the endgame.
happy 20 year anniversary of Neil banging out the tunes!
though every rat is special, it's a wonderful and unusual thing for their accomplishments to be remembered and cherished by so many people so many years later. we're all so fortunate to know about the rat who banged out the tunes!
thank you to all the people who sent me reference photos of their beloved rats for this piece!!! credits under the cut!
shouting âDERIVATIVE!â at an art school kid just walking down the street from a moving vehicle, they break down and sob
okay but if i, a guy driving a car, yell that at somebody walking on the sidewalk, thatâs not really an insult, thatâs just what they are
you listened to your plug, and kept chiefin on the chungus
One of the guys I worked with told us a story about how, when they were doing archaeology surveys in the woods they ran into a bigfoot hunter. Bigfoot guy asked if they had seen signs of bigfoot, and he was like "Sorry, nothing like that. We're archaeologists, so we're looking for human stuff." and the bigfoot guy was like "Oh! I saw some Native American cairns on my way out here. I can give you a general location." and when he was like "Yeah dude, that'd be sick. We're actually looking to document those." the bigfoot guy was like "Yeah, they looked pretty cool. I didn't touch them though, because Native Americans built them, not bigfoot."
I love Eva Stratt more and more with each passing day
I view reading fantasy/sci-fi stuff as "this work of fiction is being translated into english so that I can understand it, meaning some phrases should not be taken literally" lord of the rings style, and then I meet people who nitpick every word or phrase that "shouldn't exist in this story" and I'm like wow you guys are truly miserable and unimaginative. and also you tend to assume that english words all popped up in the 19th century and you never bother to check the etymology of the words you're claiming "shouldn't exist in this universe"
like sorry but in an apocalyptic alternate-universe earth, the phrase "train of thought" is plausible even in a world without locomotives, because the word "train" comes from the 14th century, and it meant "to drag"
that's why we call dress trains "trains". because they drag. the word wasn't invented for locomotives.
y'all say shit so definitively like idk man I think it depends. the english language is OLD AS FUCK. a lot of words you believe are modern just aren't
