TWINS POWER💪
My version of She-Ra and He-Man
So the trailer dropped. I have a lot of mixed feelings 😭 Stream Masters of the Universe: Revelation.
this sucks but you get it
awww the like button turns into a rainbow when you press it! that's so cute...hey staff what's with all the trans women you keep nuking?
i think we should be ridiculing them more for this. you don't get to try and go all "queer website" when your staff likes to go on nuking sprees targeting the trans fem users
would be remiss not to mention that the rainbow notably straight up just removed the trans flag colors from it. like they’re gone. it’s the progress flag minus the trans flag colors.
that’s not the whole flag, now is it
hey staff what the fuck
hey staff don't you think you're being too on-the-nose
HEY STAFF DONT YOU THINK YOU'RE BEING TOO ON-THE-NOSE
Playing god Trying out a bit more realistic proportions and shading! I love the snowglobe concept and wanted to do a bit more character study for Crowley
ANYWAY
its almost summer!
“BUT THAT’S NOT THEM!!!!”
HOW can you say that?!?!?! HOW can you sit there and watch Asa say “scrumptious” and “tickety-boo,” bring out the hot cocoa, and then watch Anthony absolutely GEEK OUT over the universe and point out the NIGHTINGALE while they hold hands under the night sky — and then look me dead in the eyes and tell me that’s not them?!?!?!
Like I’m sorry but that is literally their ESSENCE reincarnated into human form. Same souls. Same love. Same ridiculous little mannerisms. They found each other AGAIN. What more do you WANT FROM ME!!!!!!!!
Gobsmacked whenever people say it’s just some random people with their faces. Every single things said it’s them.
I was very much pleasantly surprised by the cosmic/religious horror of good omens 3. like. an angel going mad with the need to fix everything, destroying the universe itself because they could not bear to live as they had anymore. characters erased from existence, torn from the universe like pages from a book, and everything that ever was fading away as if it never existed at all. the fact that the power of the book of life makes you have the past and the present and the future all in your head at once, and the one who holds that knowledge simply can't bear it, goes mad with the knowing. god, too, as an apathetic being, happy to erase everything and start over without any sort of emotion, never wavering, smiling at the love between and angel and a demon but so quick to end their existence just the same. aziraphale's realisation that everything that happened over the last 6000 was just god's own story made to entertain herself, with Satan there at the end just as a nice tidy way to finish. humans and angels and demons all pawns in god's plan, moved across the chessboard as she deemed fit, and then the implication that the metatron, too, had been changing existence with the book of life the entire time, trimming and pruning whatever he wanted. oh, that sense of helplessness when it all ends, the realisation that this universe was always doomed because that was what god wanted, and no matter what anyone did it would have ended the same. it leaves a pit in your stomach, doesn't it? perhaps that's why so many who found comfort in the show are mourning it now. to me it is beautiful and awful and it is horror, really, like that's what it is. horror is the feeling it leaves and the point of it all. the person with the cards is the one who controls everything. the whole game was rigged all along. oh, there is hope too, hope is the point in the end, but the horror of it all was splendid. imagine how this message could have been portrayed in 6 episodes, when it already made me feel so much in 90 minutes.
it was all just one horrible nightmare crowley had. then he woke up in the cottage, wrapped in aziraphale’s arms.
Not saying thank you
Bonus:
Proud to report that I saw a black bird and a white bird flying around each other today. So Crowley and Aziraphale *do* exist in this universe, and they seem to be beating around each other like always. Happy day
Honest (SPOILER) thoughts regarding the GO finale, I think a valuable piece of writing people are kinda overlooking is the INCREDIBLE subversion of their main motivations
Like we as the audience are lead to believe from the start that Crowley is this jaded, cynical little fucker who’s fond of one person and one person only. The typical “nothing in this world matters except you” grumpy who doesn’t give a shit about a universe that rejected him. Aziraphale, likewise, is pretty easily seen as the bigger picture guy, it’s obvious he loves Crowley deeply but it’s the mission of the larger world, the good of the people, that draws his time and energy- he chooses that responsibility more than Crowley. These are the roles we’ve seen them play and the archetypes we’ve kinda locked them in to. It matches with their grumpy vs sunshine attitudes, their aesthetics etc
Then in s2 we started noticing some cracks in it. We’ve met Angel Crowley who is a beautiful sunshiny dreamer who cares so deeply about the gorgeous world around him. Aziraphale starts to get a bit wrapped up in his own self interest from time to time, caring more about his bookshop or Crowley or even Jim than his larger mission. These little moments added depth to their characters, but ultimately didn’t shake our ideas of them. But THEN-
When they were asked by God what they would save, everything in the world has been stripped from them. The universe is lost- all that remains is each other and the final question of “what in the whole of existence matters to you most?” And we think we know what they’ll say, we think the way we’ve been taught all this time- Crowley is the selfish lover and Aziraphale is the heartbroken rejector.
But instead we meet their cores. We meet the truest stripped down versions of themselves and we learn the truth. Aziraphale picks Crowley. His lover, his life, the being that completes him. He makes the selfish, or loving, choice, no matter what it means to the world. And Crowley- Crowley is crying for the world. He is so utterly helplessly desperate for humanity to have their chance that he’s willing to throw away everything out of his sheer love for them. We’ve met the old part of him again, the artist and the lover, the selfless one he’s had within him all along. And for Aziraphale we’ve finally met the lover in him too, the one who’s finally willing to put his love for Crowley above all else.
I don’t know but I think it’s absolutely beautiful to get to know characters that you thought had these black and white motivations, only to discover that when it all comes down to it, they are capable of throwing everything we assumed about them out the window. There’s no black and white or even grey, but a whole world of mixed up colours and choices that make them whole. The sinful Angel and the selfless demon to the last.
