Phantasos stared at the handkerchief and then to his hand that was reached out to her in confusion. She ignored his gesture, too afraid to do anything at the moment. Even when he told her to call him Emperor Hades, she simply nodded to agree to whatever request he had. Anything to not have her killed on the spot… Why had he not killed her yet? Why was he telling her to calm down? Was this some kind of trick? But she knew Hades was not the type to play tricks like this. Or perhaps, he was trying to get her to lower her guard so he could drag her back to her father for punishment… No, Hades would not do that. He would not care. He would have pulled out his sword and ended her life along with the many innocents here.

As she was still trying to understand her situation, she realized there was something different about Hades’ cosmos. Was he human? It almost reminded her of Athena as she was the only deity to reincarnate as a human and not possessed a human host. There was no way Hades would choose to reincarnate as a human unless he was forced to… curse to live as a human.

Phantasos couldn’t help but laugh at his predicament. If he was cursed to live as a human, that meant she was stronger than him. She had nothing to fear from him.

“Emperor Hades? Or should I call you human Hades? I thought Athena killed you in the last Holy War but it seemed you were cursed to live as a human. Did Athena do this to you? To teach you a lesson? It is ironic that you who hated humans so much is now living as one. I guess that is karma.” But his personality was very different from what she remembered. “You are a lot more humble than I remembered. Did the human life humble you? Or did you forget? The fact that you forgot who I am feels insulting but not surprising.”

Vasilis' brow furrow slightly when she ignored his kindly gesture. Not that he was offended, but merely confused about her reaction. Was he so terrifying in his past life that not even someone who was once associated with him wanted to accept a simple gesture like this?

In the back of his mind, there's echoes of a vile voice: Ungrateful pest. She should whimper, kneel and beg for forgiveness.

Vasilis keeps his calm and kind composure, ignoring the villainous stray thought that came from nowhere.

Vasilis says nothing about her questioning his identity. He was raised and taught by the twin gods much like the Pandoras of the past. Thanatos and Hypnos recovered their memories faster than he did; it's almost like the curse was more severe on Vasilis than before. He pauses as the woman mentions forgetting her name.

❝ My apologies for not recalling who you are. I only know of three people that call me by my divine name, Hades—Pandora and the twins. Outside of them, you are the first, so I am curious about who you are. Are you trained in reading the Cosmos of someone? Were we comrades? Who are you? ❞

Hades does like to think himself more powerful than his brother, as Poseidon refused to outright fight him. Though, Hades is more tactical in his approach.

Hades' cosmos is a parasite to the chosen hosts. It's an infestation, a gradual and horrific submission. It eats away at the edges of their consciousness until it spreads and temporarily reflects his true body in Elysium. His hosts are his proxy to be on earth, not his reincarnation.

I’ve come to attend you on this day!” Kneeling at the foot of his throne she excitedly lifts the delicate blooms for him to inspect each one woven from her power.

Hades understands none of it. Valentine's is meaningless to him, but Teacup seems to consider it a big deal. The Underworld Emperor leans forward and takes a couple of the offered flowers from her. Considering what she told him, the god tilts his head in confusion slightly. ❝ You spend time with me whenever you can. You can spend it with me for months. You do not need a day. There is forever for us. ❞

It's comical to see her small frame covered up with the large and colorful bouquet. Yet still, Hades allows the smallest sincere smile grace his lips. An offering so genuine to him; an offering made so willingly and earnestly—she indeed does surprise him.
