keith takes a long time to say i love you. even though he's known it for so long and he desperately wants lance to know too...it just doesn't feel enough to simply say i love you bc how could three words possibly express everything he feels? how could he ever put words to the overwhelming rush of love he has whenever lance smiles? how could he ever put words to how it feels when lance hugs him, when he feels something that he'd thought he'd lost forever? so yeah, it takes a long time to say i love you bc it just isn't enough.

when he does say it though, he doesn't stop. he spends a lot of time watching lance and when lance catches him he shrugs and justifies it with an 'i love you'. sometimes he's almost giddy with it, whispering 'i love you' into his mouth, saying it over and over bc he has so much love in him that his chest aches from it all and lance deserves to know

lance and keith have a tendency to sleep in each other’s room. most of the time, when one of the them has a nightmare, or the pressure of the war just becomes too much, they would just go to the other boys room.

at some point, they don’t even have to ask each other if it would be okay to share a bed for the night. one of them would just know that the other boy is here, and needs some cuddles and comfort to fall asleep again.

when they start dating, they never really sleep in separate bedrooms anymore. they just wake up, looking into each other’s eyes with a soft smile, greeting each other with a short, and yet sweet and tender kiss.
