TIA: Hey! So, you know how there's this ball thing going on?
TIA: Well... I was wondering if you had asked anyone or if you've already been asked...
EDDIE: Yeah, everyone is getting asked. No, not yet.
“Fine.” Splendora’s pout was evident as she crossed her arms. “I still haven’t asked anyone yet. I like the whole girls ask idea but I think if it was always like this I would end up going alone. Has anyone asked you?”
“No, but I’m waiting for someone to ask me. She’s just a little slow.”
“Please don’- please don’ freak ou’, but…” She found it hard to say, like it was stuck at the bottom of her throat. Eddie was her friend, and she didn’t want to lie to him anymore, so she just blurted it out. “’m a werewolf, an’ I think someone found out, and put this here to hurt me, an’…”
Eddie looked at her for a few moments, unsure of what to say or do. He wasn’t scared or thought she was weird or anything but he didn’t want to say anything that’d hurt her. His hand moved to her back, rubbing it softly. “Do you know who could’ve put it here?” Eddie asked, ignoring the werewolf part.
“That’s plenty o’ experience if ya ask me.” Aileen grinned, looking around at the much grander bathroom than the normal student ones. “Apparently it’s those ones over t’bath over there.” The Irish Hufflepuff shrugged, going over to investigate.
“It is but I expected more from you.” He replied before looking around the bathroom. “Is it too late to become a prefect?”
“Trust me, Eddie. I’ll be fine. I won’t get hurt. Besides, it’s gonna be fun.”
“Okay. I trust you.. I hope so.”
Raina sat on top of one of her suitcases, her legs crossed as she read a book. Angéle and Loup were chatting with Mcgonagall about what to expect for the rest of her schooling, and she really wasn’t invested in the conversation– in fact, she was waiting for one of her old roommates to come pick her up and bring her to the Gryffindor Room, and to her bed that had been absent since she left.
“Heaven forbid I don’t remember my way around.” The brunette thought to herself with annoyance. The three-quarters veela glanced at her parents, then at the students passing by– she couldn’t help but find it amusing that they were the primary source of attention, and she couldn’t blame anyone for it. Her mother a full veela, her father a half veela, both of which didn’t look like they could have had children– little did they know, they’d had two. In any case, it was nice to not have eyes on her– and it was also nice to just be back. Raina had missed this place.
❛–Oh, Raina. ❜ The sixth year Gryffindor tuned back into the conversation at her mother’s insistent voice. ❛ We’re leaving now, don’t forget to write us. ❜ Blue eyes rolled to the back of her head as her mother enveloped her in a tearful hug, her father following soon after. ❛ We’re going to miss having you around. ❜ Raina looked up at Loup, who had just tucked some strands of her hair behind her ears. ❛ I love you both too. ❜ The brunette replied, voicing back what had nonverbally been spoken. After exchanging a few more words, her parents were on their way out– Mcgonagall assured her that her roommate would arrive any moment, before having to go about her business. Unfortunately, Raina wasn’t convinced.
The light haired veela stood up, shaking out her genetically luminous locks as she scoured the crowd of students. ❛ Excuse me. ❜ She delicately uttered, watching as a bunch of students around her seemed to have stopped as if they couldn’t help it– but her eyes weren’t on any of them, just the person she had spoken to. ❛ Do you think you could help me? ❜
Eddie turned around when he heard someone talking to him, “Wow,” he spoke low, taking in the sight of the beautiful girl in front of him. “Hey? You look familiar..” He said once he got a better look at her face. He raised his eyebrows in question while thinking about where he knew her from.
“So what if he does? It’s freedom of expression– we do have that, right?“ Splendora wondered out loud. “I could also steal the ingredients for polyjuice potion and then he’ll think whoever did it wasn’t a meta.”
“Freedom of expression doesn’t work with Snape. I don’t know. It’s always risky to mess with a professor. Do it after the ball.”
“There’s the excitement I wanted!” Aileen laughed, gripping the edge as she heaved herself up with Eddie’s help. “I got it!” She reassured before slipping through the window and easing herself down the other side. “Did this fifty times over when I was a kid, back home.” The Hufflepuff called before unlocking the door, grinning at him after pushing it open. “C’mon then.”
When she climbed through the window he ran to the door and waited for her to open it up. “Only fifty times?” Eddie let out a laugh. A grin appeared on his face when he saw Aileen. “Where are those rainbow taps?” He asked as he stepped inside, looking around.
“It’s because you feed her too much, honestly, you spoil her.” She let her head fall on Eddie’s shoulder, chewing her bottom lip. She never liked lying, especially to her friends.
“I- It’s not tha’, Eddie. It’s this stupid- this stupid book. I found it in my room the other day, an’- I know someone put it in here for- for me to find.” Reaching under her pillow, she grabbed the book and pulled it out onto her lap, staring at the fancy golden lettering that read; ‘Lupine Lawlessness: Why Lycanthropes Don’t Deserve to Live’.
“I do spoil her but that’s because she’s my baby.” He admitted, chucking softly. Eddie rested his head on top of hers. “That’s a fancy word for a werewolf. Why would someone put it there for you to find?” He said while staring at the book.
“Well no, not completely.” Malina bit her lip in thought. “We could probably add in some more fireworks.
“That’d be nice. I love fireworks. This plan start to look better now.”
“It’s fine, I don’t need it.” Melania spoke firmly, but before she could protest, Eddie settled his warm cloak around her shoulders causing Tumble to cry out in protest. The blonde Hufflepuff froze when she heard the dragon rawr coming from her inside pocket. “Ah-choo.” the girl sneezed loudly to try and cover up the sound. “Ah-choo.” Rubbing the bridge of her nose, Melania looked up at the boy and smiled weakly. “You cloak’s very winter.. ish.”
When Eddie heard a sound coming from Melania’s robe he raised his eyebrows in question. “Nice try, Puff.” He let out a laugh, “You don’t have to tell me but I’m curious; What’s making that sound?” He asked a smile present on his face.
“That’d be awesome, to be honest.” She chuckled, nodding. “Oh you naughty boy. I’d find that really sexy, but I don’t know about the other girls… Y'know, they’d think you’re insane because you’d be like ssassshhhssssa.” She joked and nodded again. “If you ever get the chance to learn that language, don’t forget to teach me how to say that. Sharing is caring. It’s one of the nicest languages ever, dude! We could use that language as a code, y'know. We could curse Snape and he wouldn’t even know what we were saying.”
“I’m innocent.” Eddie replied, before letting out a soft chuckle. “That’d be great. Snape would be so pissed. I’ll never get the chance to learn that language I think we should make our own snake language. Ssassshhhssssa is the word for suck my balls. And a few thousand words to go.”
Dixie paused as she looked at him. “Yeah.” She replied matter-of-factly, giving him a nod. “I’ll just run in and ask to take their measurements. The house elves need sweaters, too.”
"Yeah, but it should be a surprise. If you ask them for their measurements then they’ll know.”
“Why? Do you have a better idea?” Jinx tilted her head to the side, as the red haired Ravenclaw gave a look of confusion. “I’ve been doing pranks for ages now, and I’ve done this one once before but this plan shouldn’t fail.”
“Maybe. I’m not a prankster or anything but this plan looks like it would fail. And there’s a lot of people at the ball, someone will notice.”
“My plans are never failures, but sharing them with you could change that so I’m not going to risk it. I guess you’ll have to be curious until I’m done.”
“How? I’m not going to tell anyone.”
“I like to avoid stress if possible.”
“I understand! Did you get your gown yet?”
