Too Hot! (Hot Damn).bones-to-glass.
A light sigh passed over the man’s lips, as he shoved his hands into his pockets. Dodging around the flow of people in order to remain on task. Not anything terribly important, nor did he care enough to pay much mind to the beings that passed him by. Truly, the existence others outside of himself and his partner was completely meaningless to him, and they could burn for all he cared; he would merely step over their bodies. Life was simple in that regard, even if his though process was hardly normal. Simply on his way back to the apartment after sending a mundane day doing nothing important. Something he considered normal in this world, and one of the many reasons behind his searing hatred for its very existence. Even being out amongst the locals, and walking their streets irritated him at times. A frown etching itself onto his features, as walked. Little interest in the world, and its people. There was nothing of value to him among them. His attention only very briefly lifted away from his thoughts at the sensation of the wind shifting against his skin, though he made no effort to move or act upon the sudden change. Tensing only slightly when the woman touched his shoulder, but not bothering to acknowledge her otherwise until she spoke up. Eyes rolling slightly to the side.
“Forget it. Keep it.” He hardly valued physical possessions, nor did he ever any desire to play games with stranger. He waved his hand dismissively, not bothering to quickly his pace or move towards her. Sincerely not caring about the item’s fate. There was nothing in the world, aside from his own partner, that held any meaning to him. That, and he simply didn’t have the time to bother with giving chase to her. Even if he did, he would likely only harm the nearby Checkers. And he was hardly willing to deal with another lecture from either of the Gods.
Rei expected some resistance. To her, materials were valuable. It wasn't that they could replace family or friends but because they had to be worked for. She had spent a whole summer working as a Ruin Clearer, a laborious job involving moving stones in the heat, in order to buy someone a large bunny plush. The plush had nothing that would aid her further in life but she just wanted to see that person's smile. The vague memory, the lack of specificity, annoyed her but she could do little to fix it. She frowned. "Ya aren't clingy, are ya?" Shifting forward, she twirled the object around in her fingers, tilting her head as she inspected him. Brown eyes narrowed. She didn't trust someone who didn't care much. If someone took something of yours, you had to fight to get it back or else they'd just keep taking. If he didn't fight that meant that he either didn't care about much or he was one of those types that could get numerous things without a problem. Both were annoying types to deal with and both managed to get under her nerves. Rei raised a brow and tossed the item back towards him. "Ya aren't any fun." Scratching the back of her head, Rei sighed. She was bored again and she had been trying to lose some steam. After all, finding out that you had been resurrected, had suddenly lost something close to you, and had been tied to a leash to fight some war was frustrating to say the least. Perhaps, that was why he was like that. Maybe he lost his character. Maybe he's just a moving mannequin. She glared at him. "If ya don't care, I'mma stick with ya then. Let's see how annoyed ya get. I'm bored as it is."
