Saving myself a few hours of watch time every May now, as the country that should have been disqualified years ago, is still rigging votes to gain the public favor of European citizens

solemn conclusion of senshi and sanji's wild night out together [june 2024]
the cook and the grill master
based off of this post by @melonteee on twitter
something about old queer people being able to finally be queer and out. something about our flag means death and good omens having older gay people who are discovering themselves and kissing eachother. something about the aids crisis and a generation of old queers being forced to hide or dying. something about young queers being able to see themselves grow old.
Has this been done yet?
My favorite silly detail of Our Flag Means Death is how everyone with a little dinghy can always find whatever they're looking for even though they're in the middle of the ocean with no possible way of communicating and no way to know the trajectory of whatever vessel they're trying to reach
cannot stress enough how much i love the way our flag means death portrays blackbeard in the finale. there is no mistaking that everything he’s doing is a facade. he doesn’t want this. he wanted to be loved. he wanted to be happy. but he’s come to the conclusion that that life just isn’t for him. he’s only ever been a monster, it’s the easy way out. but the final shot of blackbeard isn’t him sailing confidently to his next adventure. it’s him breaking down on stede’s bed, crying so hard that the makeup he’s using to mask himself is running down his face. he is broken. we all know that, and they’re not trying to tell us anything different.
