travelling and i passed some clothing shops, my immediate first thought upon seeing some of the pretty dresses wasn't anything about myself. nope, didn't think that I should buy that for gender reasons. that's what I would have expected, especially since I have spent the past few months boymoding for Family Reasons™.

Do you like ω-3? Their early work was a little too common time for my taste. But when Raiders came out in '26, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole soundtrack has a sharp, dissonant sound, and a new sheen of consummate microtonality that really gives the levels a big boost. They've been compared to dedf1sh, but I think ω-3 has a far more raw and improvisational composition.

our brains are lazy machines. if your brain finds out you can externalize a skill to a tool, it will bulldoze that skill to make room for new information, and it is very difficult to convince it to rebuild. think of what happened when we started storing contacts in our phones or doing arithmetic on pocket calculators: can you remember your cousin's phone number or your multiplication tables? probably not, but that's not really a big deal.

we are now living in a world where tools are capable of a close enough approximation of thought to convince your brain that you don't need it anymore.

do not let that happen. independent, original thought is the ink in which truth is written and the light by which deception is revealed. our capacity for reason paved the road we walked to get here and it's our only map out of the turmoil we find ourselves in today. it is the thread from which everything that matters is spun.

i hate seeing people give that away. please hold onto it, it's one of the most important things you have.
