throwing my two cents into the Jay memory debate, cause I’ve been seeing a lot of chatter. I do see the merit of both Jay getting his memory back, and Jay not getting his memory back. I think if done properly they would both be good character arcs for him and be satisfying narratively.

HOWEVER as someone with memory problems (not as bad as amnesia but I don’t remember most of my childhood and early teenage years) I really don’t like the notion that Jay has to get his memories back to be happy or accept himself again. It comes off as a bit insensitive to me.

i’m not a fan of the “there’s no platonic explanation for this” comment bc usually, There is a platonic explanation for something if you try hard enough. however I feel that there literally is no platonic explanation for jay eagerly saying “YES!!” to kai’s fake proposal and then backpedaling upon remembering that it was fake
