He gave her a not impressed face. This girl would be the end of him.

“Ooooooooh kaaaaaaaay then? Anyways I guess I’ll find Karkat or my bro. Kinda wanna get his opinion on whats happening between us.”

"Very well. If this girl gives you trouble for ending things, which I understand that she likely will, allow me to handle it please."

She leaned to the side and peered down the hallway behind Dave.

"If you're looking for Karkat you won't have to go far." She lets out a small laugh. "He's cleverly hiding behind the corner of the hallway. I think he finds me a bit intimidating." She winks and gives Dave's hand a squeeze.

"Good luck. Not that I believe you need it."

“No thank you. I’d prefer you leave him intact as Roxy and I have plans for the two of you that require you to both remain in each others good graces.”

She twists her head to the side thoughtfully.

“I see. I have no true objections to that I suppose, so long as you’re not emotionally attached to the Serket girl. Though I must admit I do not prefer her over others you could have chosen despite her admirable mental capabilities.”

“And wait, why? What are you planning here Lalonde?”

Rose thinks it over for a moment before responding.

As always, Rose seemed to have an uncanny knack for timing. However, whether that was a good or a bad thing depended on the situation and the persons involved in the situation. It was unnerving to Karkat but no surprise to Dave when she turned the corner to the hallway they were standing in and began to walk in their direction giving them both a small wave as she approached.

Dave ignored Karkat, smirked, and started waling her way

“Hey there Lalonde.”

Keeping her expression even, Rose greets both boys. "Karkat. Dave."

She holds a neatly stapled packet of papers to Dave. "The teacher informed me you were absent to class so I took the liberty of finding your work and making copies for you."

Turning her attention to Karkat she looks him up and down quirking an eyebrow at him rather than saying anything.

"Why thank you John." She pauses and playfully pretends to think very hard even going so far as to thoughtfully rub her chin before teasing him again.

"Hm. No. No, I don't think so."
