Over the past 2 months @darioacostateich and I have been facilitating a collaborative songwriting project with a group of 12 participants in the township of Delfín Gallo in the north of Argentina. If you look closely you can see that our group ranges in age between 9 and 63! ⠀ ⠀⠀ We are collectively writing a song called Esperanza, paying homage to the history and culture of this formerly industrial community and offering a vision of hope (esperanza) for future generations. ⠀ ⠀ The project will culminate in a professional recording of the song with instrumental and vocal performances from participants and a music video. Esperanza is a cherished silver lining to come out of this pandemic! Virtual concerts are the 2020-21 normal! As much as I love to perform in person, it’s been amazing to connect with people all over the world and to play music in new contexts. This photo with @darioacostateich is from yesterday’s year-end session of #thehof by the Frankfurt Book Fair or #frankfurter @buchmesse for which we have been the artists in residence this fall. I am proud of our “pivoting” and what Dario and I have built these past months. That said, the pandemic has been and continues to be very challenging for musicians and all workers in the industry.
