Song of the day: “ZES // Do It Again”
A production duo consisting of Catacombkid and BeachesBeaches.
Odesza is another electronic classic. Keep an eye out on their website as well as ours to find out tour dates and more. For now, have a listen to Electroduction’s favourite, “All We Need (feat. Shy Girls)”.
Canadian Producer Jaegen and his quick rise to fame
The fast rising Canadian Dancehall/R&B producer Jake Aujla, a.k.a Jaegen, sat down to talk to us about what it means to be a producer in Toronto. Born and raised in Ontario, Jaegen started off making beats for the hell of it. What got him into production was the sounds of vaporwave, trap drums, and anything sample-based before quickly getting noticed by small and well-known artists alike.
Mini Review Monday: D33J, Alt-J and more
Mondays are for work and reading our reviews on individual electronic (and electronically related) songs and remixes.
D33J & Drip-133 // Ultima
After his Gravel and Tide Songs EP’s, D33J is back with Drip-133 in “Ultima”, a spooky (of course) but tranquil tune. As part of the WeDidIt Collective, D33J usually spent his time playing the opening act in Shlohmo’s and Ryan Hemsworth’s tours. And still, each and every time, he always mystifies and rocks harder than the main acts. The best way to describe both D33J and Drip-133’s style is a 4am hysteric.
“Ultima” sticks to D33J’s roots of simple but impactful, seductive but enigmatic and as he once described his music, it’s perfect for “occupying that hour of the night when you come home alone, buzzed from illicit substances, and the retreat to self-reflections sets in”. All in all, “Ultima” isn’t the most mind-blowing of productions, but is something to emerge yourself in late at night, to study these pharmaceutically-induced melodies.

Gorillaz announce new album ‘Humanz’
The notorious virtual band Gorillaz have finally announced a new album after a six year hiatus, and fans couldn’t be more excited. Members Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett revealed the title of the album, Humanz, which has them collaborating with an all-star (fairly hipster) cast. The album will be released on April 28, which couldn’t come soon enough.
Virtuality is their strong point, and the fictional characters on the band include 2D (who sings lead vocals and plays the keyboard), Murdoc Niccals (who plays the bass and also sings vocals), Noodle (a guitar and piano player and sometimes sings), and Russel Hobbs (main focus of drums and percussion instruments). These characters have never represented any real life musicians and are a creation of the two members.
Listen to Yahtzel if you enjoy the type of music that make you travel. Yahtzel loves experimenting with distorted synth sounds and psychedelic, drawn out hip hop beats.
Mura Masa, Clams Casino, Nicolas Jaar, Flying Lotus, Death Grips, AND Moderat playing at field day! Sounds like a perfect Saturday with the mixture from the best of the best.

You can definitely tell his love for classical percussion with his music.

How To Dress Well brings his ‘Salt Song’
If you type How To Dress Well into the search bar on Google, the first few pages will surely be filled with GQ and Cosmopolitan advice on how to properly wear a formal suit or dress. But for those who are aware of the singer, whose real name is Tom Krell, How To Dress Well is about music that reaches the very end of soul searching experimental Pop and R&B. The 32 year-old singer from Colorado finally released his highly anticipated fourth album,‘Care’, in July after a long two year wait and much to his European fan’s delight, announced a small European Tour before continuing on back around the USA..
Flume: Skins at Alexandra Palace
The beloved Australian producer/DJ Harley Edward Streten, better known as Flume, has become the future of electronic music we know and love today. His self-titled album back in 2012 along with his famous remixes to Lorde, Sam Smith, and Disclosure, began the never-ending rise of his inevitable and well deserved fame. Streten, now touring the entire globe, combines the experimental sounds of technology with layers upon layers of abstract melodies. Guest singers have assisted in helping him reach his vision of other worldly sounds that his massive fan base love and yearn for.
