Zarc and eyes
I have watched the Yuya vs Yuri duel probably too many times for it to be healthy but I noticed there seems to be a pattern in episode 135 that Yuya or Yuri would squint a specific eye when making specific statements.
Notice how whenever Yuri talks about become one, he squints his left eye while Yuya would squint his right eye whenever he refuses to become one. Originally I would count this as a coincidence but then I remembered 140. When Yuya revives Supreme King Dragon Zarc, Zarc takes over this eye.
Zarc takes over the right eye, the exact eye that Yuri has open when he states what Zarc wants and the eye the Yuya closes when he’s trying to fighting Zarc’s influence. I think that Zarc is connected to the right eye while the Dragon Boy’s own conscious is connected to the left eye.
Whenever Yuya’s powers starts to grow, we see it in Yuya’s LEFT eye
The fact Zarc is revealed to have taken over Yuya’s body in 135 is shown by Zarc flashing Yuya’s left eyes shows that Yuya’s consciousness is connected to his left eye.
And then 140 just continues this. Zarc talking about him creating Pendulum summoning is shown by Zarc’s face being overlayed over Yuya’s while only Zarc’s right eye is open.
And when Yuya is refusing Zarc’s declaration that he just wants to kill everyone, only Yuya’s left eye is open.
The final proof is that in the end of the Zarc vs Ray/Reira duel, Zarc is fighting back control from Yuya with their right eye open. While Yuya’s left eye is barely open and struggling to stay open
But Yuya opens his left eye fully when he takes back full control and signals for Ray/Reira to finish the duel.
It really shows that the staff really planned out everything thus why Yuya and Zarc’s oldest and trusted ace monster is ODD-EYES, the monster with two different eye colors. Odd-Eyes’ design is meant to show how conflicted Yuya is, representing Zarc’s destructive impulsives and Yuya’s ideals.

Takeru: Why, thank you, Yusaku. When's your birthday?
Yusaku: I have no idea.
Yusaku: I don’t really have friends.

Arc V Anniversary Month - Day 10:
“Saddest Moment”
the entire fucking show was sad
Guh, seriously there are a lot of sad moments in this show.
Some of the peak saddest moments to me, though, include Yuto’s “death” in Yuya’s arms, the entire Yuya/Reiji vs. Leo duel, Yusho being carded by Yuri, and the one that is reeeeally close to being my top sad pick, which would be Yuya’s breakdown over Smile World during his duel with Yuri…
But… none of those make me as sad as
ugh kill me for going out of my way to screencap this
Ugh. My heart hurts. So much.
I was gonna talk abotu this more but
augh
It’s just…
I know Zarc fucked up. I’m not excusing anything he did.
But…
It’s not exactly just one “moment” in particular, per say, but…
All the details about his backstory, what society led him to believe, his origins as a well-intentioned duelist and entertainer who was just corrupted beyond repair, who held all this hurt for seemingly years because of how far he was pushed and his misunderstanding… and all the implications of the kind of person he really was before going insane and his overall connection to the Yuus, Yuya especially… and the fact that none of the Yuus were inherently bad per say (and yes, I’m arguing this for Yuri too because his environment basically pushed him in that extreme sadistic direction too)…. well…
So many things in this show make me sad, but I can’t tell you how much time I’ve spent thinking about what a sad direction Zarc’s life took…
Nothing in this show makes me sadder than Zarc himself tbqh…
And yet it’s like I’ve said once before,… even though he fucked up, I don’t think he deserved what happened to him (losing himself, I mean) and yet still… I couldn’t be thankful enough for what happened to him because had he not gone through that, the Yuus wouldn’t have existed and just wow… what a fucking rollercoaster of feels tbh
Assigned Agent Izuku AU
HERE’S ANOTHER AU, so in this AU…you guys remember here in the US we all have an assigned FBI agent who watches our every move, right? 8) Well in this AU Izuku is Bakugou’s assigned agent, it’s a 24/7 job I think…okay of course he sleeps! Hm idk how much time our FBI agents spend with us tbh. BUT YEAH IZUKU SPENDS A LOT OF TIME LOL
HUHH and of course he blew up his cover the Izukuest way possible; fangirling over how awesome Kacchan is. Also, he pressed by accident the emergency button which allows the heroes to listen to the agent. OH the thingy that Bakugou has on his ear is only connected to Kirishima’s, that’s why Bakugou was surprised lol. OH MAN, IZUKU IS IN A LOT OF TROUBLE.
HAHAHADSFG THIS IS SO SILLY OMG.

Why Ruri broke through but Rin didn’t
ok so when 119 aired a lot of people thought the fact that Ruri could break out of the parasite’s control for a bit meant they were downplaying Yugo and Ruri’s relationship and I thought so too till rewatching.
During the final turn when Rin was just about to win, this happened.
Notice how Rin’s eyes keep flicking, it only happens here. Rin’s eyes were fine when Yugo first hugged her but here something odd is happening. Since we saw what happened with Ruri and how she gain awareness when she was beating Shun. I think what happened was Rin at this moment KNEW that Yugo was going to lose and was trying to break free but couldn’t.
So this suggests that Rin at least was fighting it but why couldn’t she break it but Ruri could. I think it comes down to a difference between Rin and Ruri and not that Ruri was stronger. Look at Ruri’s wording.
Brother shoot me. I think the biggest difference is Ruri is willing for self-sacrifice while Rin by her nature is more focused on winning and surviving.
Rin’s mindset is focused on winning and surviving due to being a Common where you had to fight to survive thus by that nature Rin couldn’t think of sacrificing herself at the dead of the moment like Ruri did which stopped her from having the will to stop herself. Ruri was in a war where her side was losing badly so she probably has a sense of realization that maybe she could die.
I feel this is shown in their reactions to be saved.
Ruri is just thankful to be saved while Rin is crying from the fear of being kidnapped. In all honestly Rin has the more natural reaction. This and plus the fact evil!Ruri is FAR more snarker than Ruri or evil!Rin suggests Ruri is more reserved and willing to accept her fate to an extent than Rin is. Rin is a fighter and refuses to give up thus the thought of being alone, scared her as she had no way to fight.
Thus the biggest difference between Ruri and Rin is Ruri is willing to sacrifice herself to saved her loved ones that Rin is too focused on surviving to realize right away and that split difference let Ruri overpower it while Rin couldn’t.
#not sure I agree with how it’s worded #like Ruri broke free cuz she’s a self-sacrificing saint #and like Rin lost because she didn’t want to go down without a fight
Ok so the wording could be better and I don’t meant Rin is selfish or Ruri is a saint. But more their general attitude and where they were born.
I mean that Ruri was in a place where her side was losing badly and most of Heartland was carded in a year adding with the fact that Ruri is pacifist. I mean to suggest Ruri might be more accepting of death compared to Rin as she knew it wasn’t unlikely. I have more examples but that’s in a later episode.
For Rin, it’s not that she’s more selfish but she’s hyper pragmatic due to the fact she is. As a Common, she’s used to having nothing and figthing to get anything. I’m more saying Rin’s first thought is more I NEED TO BREAK OUT AND SAVE YUGO SO WE CAN GO HOME” than Ruri’s more, “I DON’T CARE WHAT HAPPENS TO ME, MY BROTHER WILL SURVIVE”. I think that minor difference in attitude was the key power. Not to suggest Rin should have been self-sacrificing, just in this case it was enough
@theabcsofjustice I think this might be why Ruri could do it while Rin struggled
Oh, very interesting theory! Thank you, that does make sense as an explanation for why Ruri was able to do it.
I noticed the thing with Rin’s eyes too as I was watching the episode, but at the time I just thought that they were shaking like that because she’d been weakened by Yugo’s attack. I like the idea that it’s a sign that she’s struggling to fight back against the parasite much more though. She did seem to be herself briefly when Yugo ran over to hold her after the attack, so she must have felt it taking her over again and wanted desperately to try and save him. ;_________;
yu boys + absorbing each other (hitotsu ni!) ↳ requested by anonymous
So I was rewatching the first opening of ARC V - Believe X Believe, when I noticed some details that were probably the earliest hint of four dimensions and dimensional counterparts. The moment the opening starts there are several pictures of Yuya appearing all over the place - probably to distract you what is about to happen next. A card appears behind Yuya and covers him up so only his silhouette remains while the background is colored red.
While not completely the same color, Yuzu’s bracelet has a pink gem which is actually pretty close to the red color. Also since this card appears first, it in a way symbolizes first Yu-Gi-Oh! series.
Then another card with Yuya’s silhouette appears, this time in amethyst color. Looks familiar?
Serena’s bracelet has a gem that is nearly identical to the color of the card’s background. Also, Serena is from Fusion Dimension that is based on second Yugioh series - Yu-Gi-Oh! GX.
Moving on we have the third card with Yuya’s silhouette in green color.
Even though we never get to see Rin’s bracelet up close, the flashback shows her bracelet gem glowing in green color. Appearing as the third in a row, this references the third series - Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds and Rin happens to be Yuzu’s Synchro counterpart.
And lastly, we have the fourth silhouette in yellow color. And yes…
Ruri’s bracelet gem is yellow. And the fourth series are Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal - the very series that XYZ dimension is based on. The four silhouettes of Yuya are foreshadowing his dimensional counterparts while the colors foreshadow Bracelet Girls. Even the order of how they appear is foreshadowing the four dimensions based on the previous series: Standard (first series), Fusion (GX), Synchro (5Ds) and XYZ (Zexal). And to add up…
Even the En cards (Bracelet’s true forms) are in similar shades of background colors, though they are a bit mixed up. En Flowers is the closest to the bracelet’s original color, En Moon is closer to cyan than amethyst, En Winds is more lemon green and En Birds is completely different from the yellow gem, though the yellow color surrounds the symbols and is also seen in all other cards.
To finish up, the cards of Yuya’s silhouette are then scattered around…
… only to be replaced by the pendulum and title…
(pendulum) hint for Zarc + (title) ARC V
= Z - ARC is the combination of all four
