I think it's funny how the majority of prequel-era fanfic leads to a fix-it. It doesn't matter if Palpatine never shows up, the plot has nothing to do with the biochips, no one is a time-traveler or has any Force visions, or even if the fic is just two characters staring longingly into each other's eyes: the fic you're reading has a 72.8% chance of becoming a fix-it somehow. Sometimes the fix-it is immediate, sometimes Order 66 happens but it's not nearly as catastrophic, and sometimes everything happens as normal but the Empire doesn't last as long or some characters find each other and the galaxy is just a little brighter because of that. Blorbo trips over rock and butterfly effect saves the galaxy.
