Damn I forgot I drew this. It would be hilarious IF L were taller than Light. Usually Light has to look down when standing next to L. It makes him feel unconsciously superior, even if it's just because of height. But when Light discovers that L is taller than him, forcing him to look up, he would be soooo angry lol (and feel a little hot about it)

The fact that some people think that Misa Amane from Death Note did nothing wrong or was somehow better than Light Yagami is very confusing to me. Some of you really calculate gender into your moral assessments. If genders were reversed, people would not be so eager to defend Misa Amane or overstate Light Yagami's moral transgression. I see this as a reflection of the prevalent view of morality as politeness and progressiveness, sometimes just in-group signifiers that seem relatable.

Reactions I have observed to Death Note characters seem to support this hypothesis. The main trio are all liars and manipulators and have committed crimes; they are all egotistical and willing to sacrifice other people's interests for the sake of their game. Arguably, Misa exhibits the least remorse or moral self-awareness out of the three, especially in the manga, where Light has a more significant mental breakdown after using the Death Note.

But Misa is an adorable, approachable goth girl, sweet and relatable. L Lawliet is a cute, soft baby because he's autistic and unthreatening, never mind the torture. I think in actuality the most offensive crime that Light Yagami commits in Death Note for a modern audience is being a misogynist and being unrelatable. More people would side with Kira's cause if contemplative and quiet L were the one wielding the Death Note instead of Light, who is unapologetically arrogant. You know, the worst thing a person can be.
