Hello! My name is Eliante and some of you may know me as the character out of the classic read, The Misanthrope. Things sure have changed since our time but I hope to get to know all of you on this "website"!

I cannot believe Alceste broke-up with me! I do admit, I  have wronged Alceste; but I didn’t want to move away, and forget the entirety of existence of the human race! Oh well, I am only twenty-one, and there are other suitors out there waiting for me.

I am not one to turn a blind eye to the sorrows of people but in your case Celimene, you'd best not turn to me; im not the one to back you in a matter of this kind (Act 5, Line 180-181).

Oh Eliante, why do you have such feelings for Alceste? While he is always honest, he is horribly rude in his ways. Do you prefer frankness to courtesy? I want you to remember, should you be cheated of Alceste, I’d be most happy to be second best.

I did have feelings towards Alceste in the chance that he may reconsider his love, but with what happened earlier today I offer you this hand of mine, [I think you Philinte] will not decline (Act 5, Line 354-355).

Celimene the ruckus you caused with Alceste Acaste and Clitandre really got out of hand earlier today.. You should know by now that the importance in a loved one shouldnt be the wealth or position that he may carry in the courts, but him by his true nature self and to acknowledge...

That is what im trying to say here Philinte. His conduct has been very singular lately (Act 4, Line 30); I really think we should help him in his crisis of love that Celimene seems to have him in

Celimene.. how could you do this to me.. We need to talk.

I’ll not forgive her; it’s gone too far for that; my mind’s made up; I’ll kill myself before I waste my hopes upon her any more. Ah, here she is. My wrath intensifies. I shall confront her with her tricks and lies, and crush her utterly, and bring you then a heart no longer slave to Celimene. (Act 4, Scene 2)

Alceste don't you think this has gone alittle too far with Celimene? I believe in frankness, and im inclined in matters of the heart to speak my mind. I dont oppose [your] love for her. (Act 4, Line 59-61), though i think it would be easier to abandon your fixation on Celimene and try to find another to love.

(via letsalceste) This man could actually bring up some fair points, but i dont see how in the way he structures his statements could convince everyone else to follow in his example. Being a speaker should be about reaching everyone on an impactful level, which i do not see possible from this mans speakings.

North Korea 'olive branch' to South

I don’t get why everyone can’t just get along all the time. If all of you were a bit more like me and actually nice to people, then the world would be a much better place.

Im not one to argue but wouldn't everyone being more like you eventually lead to a worse off place as everyone would be talking about each other until people wouldn't trust anyone else around them from what they've heard about themselves?

Finally the picture is completed! Not exactly on the same artistic level as the painters that existed in our time but I do admire the licenses that current day artists take. Besides I was never really a fan off the whole extreme to detail focus in the 1600's. This one seems fairly detailed with a good use of "coloring outside the lines" sort of structure with the dress and the curtains behind me. Very well done indeed!

Instead of insisting on suiting a multitude of men so your case my go to your liking. Sometimes I feel that Philinte is the only person who knows how I feel about this..

I figured before I begin posting, it would be best if my followers knew what I look like. I remember very clearly the day that this picture was painted. I went with my friend Alceste to get a portrait of myself, but he ended up offending the artist , so we are no longer allowed to go back. It was a miracle that we even got the finished product!! Maybe someday he’ll learn to be more polite with his commentary….

Well I think that the picture turned out fairly well Philinte. The artist really seemed to capture your stature and also the expressiveness in your eyes. And not everyone needs to carry the majesty of the king Celimene. Id wish youd be able to see that..
