Teddy’s smile dropped off his face completely. He’d met Eli’s grandma on several occasions and she had always been nice to him so he was really sorry to hear that she was sick. “I’m really sorry about your grandma.” He placed a comforting hand on the other’s shoulder in solidarity. “If there’s anything I can do to help just let me know. I meant it when I said it was good to see you again and I know the other’s would be happy to see you too. Even if you’re not staying for good, maybe we could hangout some time?”

He nodded at Teddy’s words, and even though he didn’t want any of his old friends to get involved, it was nice to know that Teddy was willing to, if he asked. “Thanks, man. I appreciate that.” The male shrugged at his words, crossing his arms over his chest. “That depends. What do you guys do when you hang out? Plus-- I don’t know, man. I’ve been gone for so long... It’d be weird.”

Teddy laughed at the almost blank look he received and shook his head slightly. “Yeah, right. Just like you promised to stay in touch.” He cracked a smile before continuing. “It’s good to have you back. I feel like I gotta ask what you’re doing back here.”

His lips curved into a small smile when hearing his comment. Eli shrugged, and the smile was completely gone once he heard his words. “It’s my grandma.” he avoid looking at Teddy for a second, scratching the back of his neck. “She’s sick. My granddad can’t do anything, and my mom’s too busy with my siblings. So... I came back.” he looked back at the other one. “The reason why I haven’t contacted you is because I’m not back back. I’m here, but I’m not back.”

Sitting in the corner of the coffee shop for almost an hour now, Rei didn’t care if her own drink was getting cold. She didn’t even care if she was caught out of the hospital. Rei just wanted out and now her eyes were glued to the television mounted on the wall as the different footages about the same event continually played. All the newscast and everything were talking about what had happened. The same event that landed her in the hospital, which was the last place she wanted to be. With a few stitches and a broken leg, she was scared of what was happening. Despite being a mutant, she was one of those who hid who they really are - especially now when everyone was blaming the mutants for what happened. The register and now this. This was one of those days Reiko wished she was human.

He had noticed the girl was still sitting at the same place she was almost an hour ago, when she first ordered the drink and he came back only minutes after with her order. She didn’t order anything ever since, and as much as Eli wasn’t one to be bothered easily, having the same client practically not moving for almost an hour was starting to get on his nerves. Once he noticed she was watching the news about the attack at the subway station, and her stitches and a broken leg, it didn’t take long for him to put two and two together. He walked up to the girl and pointed at her drink. “Are you still drinking that?” he glanced at the TV for a moment, then back at her. “What do you think about all of this?”
