In case anyone hasn't heard, the cyclospora outbreak affecting tons of people in the US right now is coming from Taylor Farms produce. Best to stay away from bagged lettuce and prepared salads completely right now, but especially the ones mentioned in the screenshot:

Taylor Farms Earthbound Farms Little Salad Bar (Aldi) Marketside (Walmart) Kroger House Brand Target private label greens Costco salads and greens etc Trader Joe's chopped salad kits and fresh produce Fast food: McDonalds, Taco Bell, (Yum! Brands), Chipotle, Subway, Pizza Hut, KFC, Olive Garden, Top Golf, Red Lobster, Burger King, etc.

This is not the first time I've heard about a Taylor Farms foodborne illness outbreak. I stopped eating their salads after reading a description of the conditions in their facilities. Doesn't sound like they've improved anything.

We need a fully funded and staffed FDA, and regulations with teeth - and that's exactly what we don't have under Trump. To make things worse, the CDC is no longer tracking these outbreaks. We're on our own.

I am seriously considering designing and building some 3D printed life sized figurines of the Castle and Train mini clanks from Girl Genius. It doesn't look that hard, their shapes aren't that complicated, I've done similar projects in the past, and there are a lot of reference images of them in the comics to work from by now. I'm just not sure if I need another project right now.

These guys are mostly just a collection of simple shapes - cubes, spheres, cylinders, etc - so they should be pretty simple to whip up 3D models for. The only hard part will be their surprisingly anatomically correct hands. I've never done a good job of modeling hands. Maybe I'll just look and see if I can find some pre-made hand models to paste in for those instead.

although now that I look closer I realize that they only have 3 fingers plus a thumb on their hands instead of the normal amount. I'll probably have to model those from scratch after all.

It would of course be tremendously helpful if Phil could actually make up his mind what the Castle's feet are supposed to look like. Well, I guess this gives me freedom to come up with a practical design as long as it looks roughly like one of these.

Okay, but consider; Castle having multiple different feet in-universe modular style. Agatha wants it to be able to travel around on it's own so she made it different feet types for different terrains/environments that it can just switch out at the ankle or knee joint. Agatha with a pocket full of different/spare feet/hands for Castle/maybe Train.

So any feet you make could be valid Canon feet.
