This pretty much sums it up. Pronouns matter.
Say it a little louder for the people in the back!
I know you aren’t supposed to read the comments but if I hadn’t I would have never seen this.

Reblog the shit out of this, ok? Everyone was acting like he was some sideshow attraction while his fifteen min of fame ran its course, and look, he’s done A Thing. He is not an idiot, he is not just some stupid kid from the projects. He got his family out, and he helped other people. I know people say things need more notes as some kind of guilt thing. But no, this needs more notes. 13k is not enough.
Didn’t he also become a kickass hairdresser and businessman? This dude is the best.
EDITED TO ADD: AND he launched a sex offender tracker app! hoooooly shit
i always thought it was weird how people were making fun of a guy who saved someone from being raped and then warned people on the news to defend themselves against rapists, like, this dude is cool as shit
$80 Billion
That’s the expected cost to taxpayers over 10 years from Obama’s proposed free tuition plan, the White House admitted Friday.
That’s about the cost of 8 months of war in Iraq. Seems like a much better investment of my tax dollars to me.
I bolded
It’s amazing how 80 billion isn’t worth mentioning when it’s about killing people, but is suddenly a huge, horrifying barrier when it’s about improving lives.
I’d still pay for it this. I’d be the one good thing my taxes would be going towards. Cause it sure ain’t going to infrastructure or schools at this rate »
#is this number meant to scare me? #80 billion over ten years #so 8 billion a year #divided by the total number of tax payers in america #in 2013 there were 242 million taxpayers #so going off that number#it would cost the average american taxpayer $33 a year #wow so scary what a horrible way to spend $33
amen. this is, what, dinner and drinks at a mediocre sit-down restaurant for two? I’d spare it.
I will refrain from ordering barbecue in once a year for free tuition. I’LL DO IT. I’ll do it so the youngs don’t get fucked over like I did, being sold on a system that didn’t exist anymore.

Trans women perpetuate the idea that you have to dress a certain way to be a woman.
Do you even think about what you say before you type? I ask, because certain types of people (very white, very insulated, very angry people with a need to crap on someone less powerful than themselves) have been belching up that pathetic claim since before I was born. Being an optimistic person, I’d like to give you bigots the benefit of the doubt and assume you could think of something new after 34 years.
Is it even worth attempting to argue with this pathetic lie you’re spewing forth without thought or concern? You clearly have no investment in reality and nothing at stake in this petty name-calling. You’re a spoiled child, kicking puppies and laughing at the sounds they make.
Honestly, I’ve heard more stories of doctors using trans women to perpetuate that idea. “Why are you wearing jeans?” “… They’re comfortable.” “That’s not very womanly of you.” “What? No, my clothing doesn’t define my identity.” “I’m sorry you feel that way. Maybe you don’t really need hormones…” “NO, WAIT! HAHA! DRESSES, SEE? AND MAKE-UP! AND PINK! AND… (shudder) …I like guys…” Yep, it’s totally us doing that.
Ha! God yeah, I still remember the very first therapist I saw, the one my mother made me see after I came out to her. He was repulsed that I didn’t like dresses and didn’t want to be a homemaker and didn’t want to marry a man, and spent two hours a week lecturing me about how I wasn’t really a woman.
Sort of funny how the patriarchy forces those roles on trans women, trans women reject them, and then along come these gynosaurs to yell at us for ever being associated with those roles. It’s almost like old white men and TERFs use the same playbook.

"Ah, you brought me a naughty book" “Well, it’s about two people that stop time when they have sex” “So, do they have sex in a bank’s washroom then rob it then run back to the washroom and pretend they were innocent?” “Pretty much.” “That’s fun.” -Margaret Atwood (paraphrased) on my gift of Sex Criminals to her.
OH MY GOD.
OMFG.

#DearNativeYouth is the beautiful hashtag all young Native Americans need to hear
These and hundreds of similar messages have flooded Twitter since last week underthe hashtag #DearNativeYouth. Within days of its launch, the campaign, created by University of Washington sociocultural anthropology Ph.D. candidate Brooke Spotted Eagle, accumulated an inspiring collection of life-affirming messages directed at young Native Americans.
Sadly, this beautiful outpouring of support did not emerge without reason. Its necessity implies a troubling set of challenges Native youth face today.

Here’s a fun april fools day prank you can do. Sneak into my room and place thousands of dollars everywhere. Just on everything. Cover my things with an insane amount of money. Make it a real hassle to clean up. The more money the better the prank.
I want people to start talking about this. I want them to know that this young woman of color is facing up to 70 years in prison based on contradictory charges. I want you all to be outraged over the fact that there were no abortion drugs found in her system but they are accusing her of feticide. I want your outrage over the fact that a method from the 17th century that is no longer used for being unreliable was used to determine if her fetus lived. I want your outrage over the fact that the court is treating that method as valid proof. I want your outrage over the racial profiling and targeting of the victim, and I am calling Purvi a victim because that is what she is. They are trying to make an example of her and that should not stand. I want more people talking about her case and I want your outrage over the fact that only 8 people will be attending the “protest” for her. Tomorrow is her sentencing. I do not want her to be alone.
Also people should think about the fact that in a country where abortion is supposed to be legal, states are intensifying abortion restrictions and then prosecuting marginalized women for allegedly trying to abort fetuses themselves (or even doing anything to endanger fetuses). They are trying to charge these women as murderers for self-aborting when the laws create obstacles for them in their state.
Purvi Patel’s case is also indicative of racialized misogyny: a policeman interrogated Patel about the race and ethnicity of the father of her child, and accused her of being impregnated on a one night stand. Patel is also not the first woman of color targeted by these laws. A Chinese woman named Bei Bei Shuai was also charged with similar crimes after she survived attempting to poison herself and had a miscarriage. Those charges were dropped, but the fact Purvi Patel is actually facing sentencing for jail time demonstrates a disturbing trend.
Imagine your OTP.
