And, if they are, one of the more curious aspects of this entire thing is that the character — as originally depicted in X-Men: COTA — was white, intentionally modeled (and obviously named) after real life white supremacist racist scumbag, Tom Metzger (in basic concept, if not appearance… I’m not sure if Steve Rude really knew from Tom Metzger). The move to cast a black actor in the role was an… interesting choice on Marvel Studios’ part.

And even in regards to the movies they made about their Fictional Minority, they still made half a dozen movies about a minority being threatened with literal genocide and in every single one of them the villain was never the oppressors trying to genocide said minority but instead it was the Jewish Holocaust survivor because he Uses Violence Against Fascists and so that means actually HE'S the REAL fascist honest!

Because you know...to do that they'd have to tell stories centered on non-white and LGBTQ people. And also that might make racists and homophobes and transphobes not want to buy their crappy product if they say those things are bad so we can't have that

But also even when it comes to make believe bigotry against their fictional minority they're still not willing to have the anti-mutant bigot be a WHITE guy because that's still a little too close to real world racism.
