A little story for Daudrey night! It’s an alternate ending of 4x10 “The Trouble with Troubles” where Audrey and Duke have defeated William and Audrey decides to stay in this world.

“And what now?” Duke’s fade voice reached Audrey’s ears. She forced herself to step away from the window and turn to Duke. Her gaze fell on the shiny little nameplate. Detective Crocker. It was still so strange. Seeing Duke like this, taking responsibility, protecting the town. And he was good at it, not that Audrey ever doubted that. He had seen this side of Duke in her Duke. She knew that it existed.

“What now?” She repeated the question, let the words slip over her tongue, as if she could find an answer like that. But there was no question at all. It was easy. “Nothing.”

“Nothing?” Duke raised his eyebrows, tilted his head. “You said this world here wasn’t right.”

“Yeah,” Audrey agreed. She did say that but at this point of time she needed to convince Duke to believe her, to find William and to defeat him. They actually succeeded. William was secure, no threat to anyone. And they saved Cliff. All went well.

“You just want to let it be like this?” Duke tried to let his voice sound neutral but Audrey picked up his curiosity. “You don’t want to go back?”

I’m rewatching seasons 1-4 of Haven and I will literally never understand why so few people ship Duke x Audrey over Nathan x Audrey. It is shown time and time again that Duke knows her better, respects her more, will drop everything for her time and time again, honors her choices even when they aren’t the ones he’d like her to make, and understands her far better than Nathan. They violate each other’s trust but always come back together and so much of their character development is intertwined. Even their regular “banter” scenes have more chemistry than her and Nathan’s romantic ones.

I mean I know it won’t ever happen, and I adore Nathan almost as much as I do Duke and Audrey, but I will be Daudrey trash until I die.

Edit: I apologize for putting this in the wrong tags. Honestly I wasn’t thinking. Hating on Nathan and/or Naudrey wasn’t what I wanted to do at all. I literally love Nathan, as I said above, and I do ship Naudrey. I never said I didn’t. The only thing I wanted to point out with this post was that I never understood why more people never shipped them.

I’m in the same exact camp. I love Nathan and Naudrey but the chemistry with Duke was so good. I won’t repeat your points because you pretty much hit the nail on the head with why I lean more towards Daudrey. But I’ve been rewatching some of my favorite episodes and what I noticed is that Duke makes Audrey laugh. Both ships have their angst (which is the fuel of all ships) but with Duke there’s this light-heartedness too. They make each other happy and I always felt she was more open and honest with Duke.

In light of our exceptional news I made it my business to take a selfie...or two for this weeks BFSN.

I just wanna say BOB AND ELIZA ARE LEGITIMATELY MARRIED! I honestly thought we were all have the same lucid dream, but I realize it is very real now. I am immensely happy for them and even though i respect them and their privacy, I WANT PICTURES!!!! I want the wedding photos, the proposal photos, the honeymoon photos, the reception photos. I want them all! Lol, but I'm okay to wait.

I also have come to realize we are for now the superior fandom what with our major ship actors MARRYING EACH OTHER!! 😍❤💜💙💚😍 Their story is such a fanfic story it truly seems unreal.

Anyways, the only thing happening in my life is the fact I turned 21 June 3rd and the Beliza announcement made my entire year.
