Eloise in Japanese

Hello there, I'm Eloise. Born and raised in rural England, but I'm currently residing in Japan - exciting times! I've been volunteering in a care home in Hyogo Prefecture for the past 6 months. I'm 19 years old, though according to the cartoonish reactions I get to that fact here, I definitely don't seem it! As this 6 month placement comes to an end, I found myself with even less of an idea what to do in life and even more of a desire to remain in Japan, so after a chat with my in-country support and making a dent in my savings, I've found myself signed up for another six months do-gooding! This time in a Red Cross Hospital in Nagoya City. This is my travel scrapbook, I guess. I'll be posting stuff from my past adventures, what's to come, and keeping you all updated on how my quest to remain in Japan goes! Hope you enjoy. :)

You've all missed my constant food photos, admit it. Tonight's dinner: Niratama Donburi, recipe courtesy of Just One Cookbook again. I happen to cook meals with a bias towards vegetables, so mine includes probably double the chives and also some shiitake mushrooms. Oh and I used sesame oil, gives a lovely flavour. :) Gochisousama!

お正月 - New Years Day Matsuri, sugary sweet girl groups provided the entertainment. Fixed smiles despite bare legs and short skirts in January weather, got to admire them.
