Valka Cosplay Refs and Help

This one was a toughie, it was hard to find any information about the most crucial parts of her outfit, the armour. Whilst the shield is basically just a round object splattered in paint, her armour is layer of layer after layer. Like an onion, it have layer.

Basic Outfit

Beneath her onion exterior we have a much plainer outfit, we keep the wrapped legs, and she wears a plain golden brown peasent top. She wears a red wrap, which is occasionally visible when wearing the armour, over a long animal pelt skirt. Which isn’t truly a skirt, if you know what I mean. Four black dots (buttons?) are visible down the centre of the red wrap. For what, I don’t know. It looks nice, let’s leave it at that.

The Armour

It appears that there is a second layer to the armour. You have the blue spattered front, and that plain chest armour. Perhaps it’s just an extra piece you can slap on for extra protection. How you choose to make it is up to you. The armour appears to be folded on top of each other, or rather, layered over each new piece. It features a chest and back piece as well as shoulder armour, arm wraps complete with claws and leg wraps. These leg wraps also come with black spikes.

To complete the outfit is the helmet, like a paper mache’d helmet with antlers, it’s mostly blue with a few yellow stripes further up, the eyes are shielded, possible with fabric. Giving Valka an inhuman appearence. A large belt is worn on her middle, perhaps to keep the outfit together. She carries a long double ended staff and her shield. The staff end both in hooks, which becomes clear as to why during the movie. 

Another Notes

Her hair is freakisly long. It’s past her waist and probably a mix of loose hair and braids tied with red fabric, leather or ribbon. The same kind is wrapped around her staff.

Clothes: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7.

Okay so last weekend I debuted Carey at MCM Birmigham Comic Con and I had a BLAST!

So a while back I asked @toodletots to see if I could use their design of Carey to base my cosplay on and they agreed to let me use that reference and and I have to tell you, she wasn’t completely finished (and the arm guards gave up and wouldn’t stay on) but I’m really happy with how she came out!

I’ve never made a prosthetic before but I think it worked really well! Next step is to make my own ears (as that’s the only thing i didn’t make) but yeah. I just wanted to share some of the Carey photos.

Hello Sirs! So I never posted the makeup I did for halloween! I didn't go out anywhere but played around with makeup insead! A lot of the TAZ folk should be familiar with the 'Angus is a Silver Dragon' theory right? (If you're not . Go take a read: https://www.reddit.com/r/TheAdventureZone/comments/62recp/an_insanely_expanded_list_of_possible_evidence/ ) So I had a go at Ango transforming and I quite like the outcome!

Carey WIP dump! So I've had the last week off work, so I've begun making Carey from The Adventure Zone. My first sculpt! (Okay this was the fourth attempt at Carey) I wasn't keen on the first sculpt and the second and third moulds failed horrifically! The fourth is currently setting and I hope it works! My tail is being painted, the underside will be lighter. One foot is mostly done! That is the first coat paint, will add a darker layer when it's done so it matches the colour of the tail. The arm guards were the first things I did and I quite like them! Gonna make some more for the feet when they are done! The design I'm using doesn't have a tail guard, but I like the idea of it so I'm gonna try it out, there's a wip there on the practice tail. Will be painted like the arm guards. Got my horns started too! First things I made using my new rotary tool so they aren't great but they will do. Got my contacts in the post today too! Aqua cat eyes. I think they will go well. Everything is blue!! I have less than 2 weeks to go and a hell of a lot to do! My main focus for tomorrow is to get the other foot to the same level

Seeing everyone's Walter Workers at Lincoln made me want to remake my Walter Worker! After a name change and a makeup rehaul, meet Andy, She's new and she's great at blowing things up! I hope to make her soon (well, it probably won't be this year but I really like her)

I had so much fun at Lincoln Asylum festival debuting Hestia. I loved being her so much. It was so warm though and I could barely walk in those boots (but they looked cool)

Meeting all the other Steam Bots and then meeting Steam powered Giraffe was just phenomenal! I am still not over it in all honesty.

Can i go back?
