Azriel’s book? I DON’T KNOW HIM!!!!
This is sarah talking about how male characters take a backseat. The lead always been females you guys. We have been saying this and this jsıt proves it.
Also friendly reminder that sarah has confirmed elain’s book in the past. So many times. 🌸🌹
Sjm could’ve easily given lucien and elain a couple title like “lord of day and lady of light” when feyre realized helion was his father and have her wonder if maybe that’s why they were mates. But no, instead in the same book we got death and the lovely fawn and bird of flame and lord of fire.
Why are antis so hell-bent on proving that Nuala and Cerridwen aren’t Elain’s friends? Is there something you’re afraid of? You don’t want her to be friends with Azriel’s spies because it would mean something?
Canon is canon, take it up with Sjm if you don’t like it🤷🏻♀️
Just thinking about how Azriel snarled at Rhy’s idea of going to a pleasure hall instead of being with Elain. Like the idea of touching anyone but Elain made him angry… like the idea that Rhys would even suggest that it was just about sex… yeah he was not having it. 🫶🏽
I really wish I could see how anyone could look at the Truth Teller scene and not see it as a monumental plot and character moment but decide that “you’re the new ribbon Az” alters things enough to bring in a full new love interest. I really do. At least then I could have something to actually argue against instead of flimsy headcanons built on wishful thinking and twisted canon.
Top 10 loves of Azriel's life:
The middle Archeron sister
The Kingslayer
The Seer
Nyx's younger aunt
The lovely fawn
Graysen's ex
The rose bloom in a mud field
The prettiest Archeron sister
The Cauldron's fave
And Elain Archeron
Azriel: Exactly the same in 4 books–quiet, brooding, helpful. Says 29 extra words in ACOSF than in the other books.
People: OMG. SO. MUCH. DEVELOPMENT.
Elain: Goes from a quiet presumably lazy girl, to being Made, to killing a king with dagger, to standing up for herself, to healing, to volunteering to search for the Trove objects herself.
People: OMG. NO. DEVELOPMENT. WHAT. SO. EVER.
can someone tell me where azriel’s big character development was in acosf since people are saying that now..
Every time I read another ‘Azriel needs to be with someone who challenges him! Someone is extroverted and gregarious! Someone who is going to call him out!’ I just want to remind them that Azriel lives with the most dramatic, extroverted group of people ever invented. Between dramatic Rhys, loud and dramatic Mor, even louder and more dramatic Cassian, rather dramatic Nesta, Amren, who also has a flair for the dramatic, Azriel probably wakes up every morning and prays to the Mother that Helion doesn’t move in any time soon.
Remember how Feyre said that Elain would cling to Azriel? It’s rather apparent that it’s Azriel who is desperately clinging to Elain for some peace and quiet. For a sense of normality and home.
Does he not give the vibes of a guy who is exhausted and just wants to sleep in the garden, under a shade for about 50 years straight? After he’s been chosen by the one he loves?
Friendly reminder that Azriel making everyone wait for Elain before eating is NOT a thing he does for everyone?? He’s not THAT courteous. He wouldn’t have made anyone wait for Mor or Nesta or Feyre. The fact that he’s acting this courteously for Elain is something we’re meant to notice. We’re meant to see it as a sign of something, just like the characters do (even if they don’t - - or don’t all - - understand why he’s behaving that way). It’s not just a fun cute little “oh look at perfect courtier Azriel,” it’s about noticing the ways he’s trying to go above and beyond to take care of Elain, in one of the only ways he currently can / knows how to, and it’s about other characters noticing this.
Elain with Lucien: its just her being uncomfortable around him and painfully awkward
Them: she’s rebelling, she doesn’t know who she wants, reluctant mate lets go
Elain: had shown interest towards another guy for 3 books, offer permission, actually saying “yes” to that guy
Them: SHE DOESNT KNOW WHO SHE WANTS!!
Elain:
this fandom talks a lot of sh*t about female empowerment and girl bosses and then proceeds to hate on every single female character that’s not their bracelet wearing trio, whoo great feminism!
elain being at her happiest when she's in her gardens avoiding lulu
Feyre when Elain spends time with Lucien:
Feyre when Elain spends time with Azriel:
I saw this post on Twitter and it made me realise just how much the couples from Twilight are similar to the ones in ACOTAR with their dynamics/vibes/personalities/stories.
Feyre/Rhysand & Bella/Edward
Both couples are the "It couple" from their respective series.
Both couples went through a difficult pregnancy where the woman nearly died.
Stephenie Meyer once explained that Edward used to always think that he didn't deserve happiness and that his relationship with Bella wouldn't last. Just like Rhys.
From a young age, Bella would take over most of the household responsibilities, feeling like she was the adult rather than Renée. You can say that this is similar to Feyre as she provided for her family at the start of ACOTAR, despite being the youngest.
Nesta/Cassian & Rosalie/Emmett
Nesta & Rosalie are both shown as the stereotypical bitchy female character (especially towards the main character of the series) before the audience gets to know them better.
Nesta & Rosalie are only "soft" around their love interest.
Nesta & Rosalie both have a past of SA.
Cassian & Emmett are both the playful and humorous characters in their groups.
Elain/Azriel & Alice/Jasper
Elain & Alice have similar powers as Elain is a seer meanwhile Alice has subjective precognition.
Elain & Alice are considerably the "sweetest" female characters in their respective series.
Azriel & Jasper are both the brooding and quiet male characters of their series.
gw*n stans love setting her up😭
