Hey there! You can call me Elf or Elven, I’m 23, and welcome to my FFXIV blog. I go by any pronouns and can be found in the EST time zone. I’m relatively new to the tumblr scene, but I’m a long time writer, artist, and roleplayer hoping to make myself a little space to post the occasional sketch or ramble.

I apologize for my rambly mood, I’m just having a lot of feelings tonight.

I used to be super into eso. Especially the small roleplay community the server I was on had. I knew, or at least met most of the people in it. This was a time in my life when I had so much inspiration to draw and write. Stories that were several pages long. Regularly completed artworks… I can hardly do any of that anymore. I hardly write, I hardly draw.

Things had gone really wrong really fast. I had to leave eso because of the actions of someone I was really close to. There were rumours and accusations and just so many lies. Several groups disintegrated near instantly. All the friends I thought I had made were gone just like that. I left with nothing. It crushed me. My spirit, my creativity, my love of roleplay…

Now on final fantasy, Ive struggled so hard to get back into it again. I love the world and the lore, and I want to write again. But I just… can’t. I’ve tried a few times here and there, but it never amounts to anything. Can’t stick to a group, can’t stick to a character.

I miss what I had on eso. My characters, my stories, my houses, my friends. The *real* Cyrinar, the real Sjafnir and Auðunn. I’m just scared of getting hurt again.

Do any of your wol(oc)'s mounts or minions have a story?

Yes! But an irl story. All of my characters have the road sparrow as a minion.

Last summer, a handful of baby chicks fell out of a tree in front of my house. Three little baby house sparrows. I spent a good while looking after the little guys (from a distance. The mom was still around to feed them. I just made sure the makeshift nest stayed dry and clean, and that no neighbourhood cats got to them.) Unfortunately, two of em didn’t make it, but I got to watch the third fly for the first time. I keep the sparrow minion around to honour the little guys that didn’t make it. So that their journey got to continue on.

Bad endings? Bad endings anyone?

What if they got consumed by the light? What if they became a primal? Any and all bad endings!

I think mine most likely would've become a lightwarden because she didn't get to Emet-Selch fast enough. "Obsession" would be its name, due to the fact it would be obsessed with the idea of saving others and changing the world, probably leading to either the Scions killing her or to her consuming the First in Light.

I have….. far too many bad endings rattling around in my noggin. It’s super late and I’m super sick atm so I’ll probably come back and add more later. But for now, my favourite:

- The WOL taking up the mantle as Fairy King.

Having been the one to open the castle and kill the lightwarden that was Titania, it would have been them to fill the role. Feo Ul would have only been temporary, having made an agreement to take the throne to give the WOL enough time to save the First and get the scions back to the source.

It doesn’t seem like the worst fate ever, but think about it- the fae exist in the now. The past and the future are of little concern to them. I’d imagine such an outlook would come with becoming one of them. And with time being inconsistent between the shards, years could pass in the blink of an eye, let alone the time it might take to even think about paying the scions a visit.

Do you have a "favourite" physical trait to give to your OCs? If so, what is it?

Do you ever just, so often see people botch the characterization so badly on your fave that you start wondering if you're the one who's wrong? And then you go back to the source material and, no, you were right, but seemingly everyone else played a completely fucking different game.

My fave thing abt XIV is that everyone just has that One Zone that they always find themselves coming back to. Where they take all their gposes, where they AFK to listen to the music and relax, where they think back on their memories in the game and can smile with knowing. Every time I go to the Omphalos I just have this breath of relief, it feels like home, it makes me feel comforted. If that makes sense at least.
