#1 — Dan Heng
▸ When you first meet Dan Heng, you were surprised he even was an outlaw. How could a hair kept, respectful man such as him be on the run from the law? When you ride out with him, he skillfully picks you up onto his horse. When you hunt with him, he’s extremely patient, showing you the basic practices of how to throw a spear, how to set up a trap, and at the end of it all, you find yourself slowly falling for him.
▸ He knows how to keep out of trouble, but you still worry sometimes. He often leaves your side when it gets too dangerous, yet comes back with a bouquet of your favorite flowers, and you find yourself smiling again. He’s observant— he knows how you cook the meat by your shared bonfire, he knows your preference when it comes to flowers, and where you usually hang around.
▸ He has a past he doesn’t really want to get into— but if you get closer to him, reassure and comfort him, he’ll open up. He tells you about a past he wishes to forget. About an identity he’d like to dismiss. And when he finishes, he stops talking, anxiously awaiting your response. When you open your mouth, he’s surprised to hear your gentle voice, and you hold his hand tighter to comfort him— until he calms down.
He thinks its unbelievable he had met someone like you even in this dangerous line of work. You think its just fate playing a silly game on the both of you.
#2 — Phainon
▸ You first meet him when hes on the run from the law, leaving his body battered in bruises, and an awful bullet wound on the right side of his shoulder. He presses his back onto a wall, and he feels the unforgiving cold air of the night on his skin. He thinks— and closes his eyes, and it slowly dawns on him that he’s really going to die.
▸ But lo and behold— you were near. Your eyes widen when you see the sight in front of you, and he stares back, chuckles and coughs up blood. “You wouldn’t mind if you helped me over here a bit, wouldn’t you?”
▸ Ever since that day, you two were practically attached to the hip. Whenever he sees you in town, he immediately hops off his horse, and eagerly insists to treat you to a meal at a nearby saloon. He gives you gifts— small patches of flowers, ones with dirt still attached to the end of the stem. He notices the way he stares too long at you when you focus on grooming your horses mane. And if you had noticed too— He’s thankful you had spared him the embarrassment of pointing it out.
▸ You don’t know much about him aside from his name and where he’s from. Well yes- you do know that he’s on the run from the law, but not much on his past life. When he opens up though, its a different story. You sit together on a wooden log repurposed as a bench, along the bonfire, and he lays his head on your shoulder, his hat on your head. He recounts the way his home was burnt to the ground, and allows himself to cry. You hold his hand tight, like a silent promise that you would never leave him.
He jokes about how he should have thanked the officers pursuing him, as he wouldn’t have met you without their unconventional help. You then elbow the side of his stomach.
#3 — Boothill
▸ You’ve heard of him. Flamboyant, brash, and above all else— thirsty for revenge. The first time you see him, he aims a gun at you. You know how this line of work is dangerous, how you need to be cautious when meeting any new person you meet, wether they present themselves as a foe or an ally. But seriously, would it kill this guy to be a little nicer?
▸ Contrary to others beliefs, this cowboy can be soft. When you offer to stitch his hat back to its proper state after a rough encounter with some bandits, he accepts. He stares at you while you focus on working. Your thread inserts in, then back out, and when you finish your work, he smiles and ruffles up your hair while his arm works his way around your shoulder.
▸ During a cold night, you two are settled in front of his tent, sharing a bowl of stew he’d salvaged from the night before. He sees a drop of a snowflake work its way onto the ground, and he stares at it solemnly. You decide to ask about his expression— careful not to push it too hard on him. He decides to open up- about Graey, about Nick, the pair that took care of him. They were the reason he even knew anything about the outlaw life, carefully teaching him how to distinguish edible plants, how to tame horses and farm sheep. How he found an orphaned baby like him— how she’d stop crying after he sang a tune that Nick used to sing to him.
▸ When he suddenly stops, you know why. His eyes turn grim, and he grips his hat like its his lifeline. You turn to him and lay your hand on his, and suddenly, he puts his fingertips in yours, and holds you like he’s desperate to feel your warmth.
One day, he puts his hat on your head and smiles so fondly that your considering not telling him you know what he’s implying.

the concept of dan heng yearning during his 1000 year journey to reach the trailblazer. Him missing their touch— ranging from small, subtle ones where the trailblazer taps him on his shoulder, reminding him to eat his fill of dinner with the rest of the express, or from more noticeable and important ones, when Dan Heng willingly puts himself at harms way just to protect them.
And when he’s resting under a big oak tree— the animals talk around him, murmuring all sorts of things, he can only ever focus about one thing.
He wishes that during the time he had with the trailblazer, he had reached out, interlocked their fingertips, and held hands, just to feel the warmth that would last him a lifetime.
He looked happier, she thinks. With the animals around him, and the trees seemingly singing, happily rejoicing upon his appearance.
His eyes were soft. It was the kind of gaze that made Stelle almost melt it into a puddle, which was strange, because he was looking at a squirrel, and not her.
His laugh was much more sweeter now. A bird made its way onto his shoulder and nuzzled into his neck, and, all of the sudden, before Stelle could stop herself— she murmured, so quietly, yet loud enough that only Dan Heng could hear it, and not the animals around them.
“You’re beautiful.”
That singular sentence made Dan Heng freeze in his tracks.

“Whos this for?” Susie points to the room near them. “Did you design this? Like you did with mine? If you did— you kinda overdid it with the, er,” She stops, trying to find the right word. “Blueness?”
Ralsei opens the door of the unknown room, and Susie quickly follows suit.
Ralsei feels his face frowning.
Well, there's a room here.
But why?
He never remembered even making it.
It is a question that will leave him pondering on for a while.

I have a headcanon that the people from the dark world doesn’t have souls because technically they’re objects so their feelings are fake so Dream cant really feel emotions because technically they dont have any.
