every year small towns and indigenous communities across canada are burnt to nothing by horrific wildfires and americans go on the internet to complain about it and blame us bc the smoke has spread to their state. i’m so tired.
go yell at mark carney or your own local politicians about climate change and urge them to do more to stop it. the namaygoosisagagun first nation had their community destroyed today. you can find a link to donate to them here. donate to your local food bank. go to the beach next week when the smoke clears and you don’t have to think about it anymore while the people who’s lives have been destroyed will have to pick up the pieces and try to move forward when we are already in a huge cost of living crisis across the country.

Just to raise awareness at the situation in Canada right now to my non-Canadian followers: Toronto has been ranked as having the worst air quality in the world right now due to wildfires.
Toronto is not a wildfire-prone area. It is extremely close to the USA border, and the smog is currently affecting NY right now. There is literal chunks of debris in the air. The sky is orange, and the sun is nowhere to be seen.
Climate change and its effects are right outside your door. Data centres are the cause for the insane heat waves across the globe, and the increase in wildfires and other natural disasters.
You will watch recordings of the world burn around you, and only when you are behind the camera will you realize there is no going back.
Stop the data centres. Protect our planet.

sad man who doesn't think he's worthy who sleeps in a barn. sad man who doesn't think he's worthy who sleeps in a pantry. one haunted by the demons of his past, of himself, one haunted by the demon bound to him. both of them are romantics !! blackwall has a beard reminiscent of an upside-down cat. lucanis has a mullet with details reminiscent of wings/feathers. slow burns. their romances begin with them pulling away. they have a scene backing their partner into something. inquisitor/rook breaks down their defenses. blackwall and sera's relationship is so similar to lucanis and taash's. "i'll take care of you" "it's rotten work" "not to me. not if it's you." energy. they just want to be domestic with their partner. blackwall builds a porch and makes eggs for the inquisitor. lucanis remembers rook's favorite coffee and makes it for them with a dessert to match. one is a sad waterlogged pathetic wet bear and the other is a sad waterlogged pathetic wet bird. i love them so much.

I think the thing that annoys me the most about Veilguard is that there's not really a natural way for you to fail or misstep. You either succeed or you don't complete huge swaths of the games/deliberately make terrible choices for the final battle. There isn't a messiness to it.
Minrathous or Treviso is the most harrowing thing that you can influence in the game and you don't even get to let any of that truly be your fault. It's a decent enough no win scenario but it doesn't let you mishandle it in anyway. If the game simply let you choose to send everyone to one city or split your forces, even if the result is the same, it gives you a certain sway in the situation that actually leaves you with a guilty comtemplation of what if i chose differently.
If there was an actual consequence to letting the Mayor at the beginning go free or even just witness some veiljumper justice. If even one side questline felt like an oh i fucked up fucked up. It would set the stakes for the entire game in a way that makes it seem as daunting as fighting the gods for the future of Thedas should be.
The most infuriating thing about all this is that there is the set up for these things. It's right there glaringly obvious as narrative possibilities. At every corner there is the chance for a meaningful and harrowing moment, but the game just refuses to let you be messy.
